Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some say that high paying professionals like doctors and engineers should work in the country where they completed their practical training. Meanwhile, others argue that it is upto their will to work wherever they want. In my view, everyone has right of freedom and they must not be restricted.
On the one hand, traditional professions like doctors and engineers may benefit more by working in the same country from where they gained education. This is because they have experience of their own country and more job opportunities may be available for them in the market. As a result, they can significantly grow and prosper because they are more familier with the guidance and policies within their own country. For instance, engineers from NUST in Pakistan are hired immediately from the local companies as soon as they graduate from the university. Although high professionals are aware of country's regulations and they tend to gain promotion much faster within their own country, I believe limiting them is against the law of freedom.
On the other hand, working in another country may widen their vocational skills and hand-on training. The primary reason for that is they will experience different kind of exposure. As a result learning from various backgrounds and areas may broaden their sense of handling the situation. Although it will require a lot of patients and hard work to be successful in another country, I second this view as it will open many doors of opportunities and one should not be restricted within their scope of practice.
In conclusion, working in the same country may help an individual to grow faster, however, I believe that a person can learn more from vast exposure. Apart from this a person should not be restricted as they have right to live their own life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views—that professionals should work where they trained and that they should be free to work abroad—and provides a clear position throughout supporting the latter view. The ideas are relevant, such as the discussion of local familiarity versus gaining diverse vocational skills through international exposure. However, the development of ideas leans towards generalization, and the supporting example regarding engineers from NUST in Pakistan is somewhat brief and under-developed. Nevertheless, the main components of the prompt are sufficiently covered, aligning well with the expectations for Band 6.5 or a solid Band 6 performance.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs representing each side of the argument, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately. Cohesive devices are employed to signal transitions, such as 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand', and linking phrases like 'As a result'. However, referencing and cohesion can occasionally feel somewhat mechanical or repetitive, such as the recurring use of 'Although' at the start of complex sentences. Overall, the progression of ideas is clear and easy to follow, justifying a Band 6.5 descriptor profile.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common lexical items such as 'vocational skills', 'vast exposure', and 'scope of practice'. However, there are notable word-choice errors and spelling mistakes, such as 'upto' instead of 'up to', 'familier' instead of 'familiar', 'hand-on' instead of 'hands-on', and confusion between 'patients' and 'patience'. While these errors do not impede communication, they restrict the lexical score to a Band 6.0, as the inaccuracies in spelling and collocation prevent it from reaching a higher band level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The writer uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating conditional and dependent clauses successfully in sentences like 'This is because they have experience of their own country and more job opportunities may be available for them in the market.' There are several grammatical errors and awkward phrasings, such as 'everyone has right of freedom' (missing article), 'different kind of exposure' (singular/plural mismatch), and 'they have right to live'. Despite these errors, they rarely impede communication, and the grammar demonstrates sufficient control to merit a Band 6.
