Student answer (Band 5.0)

some people thinks that professionals, like doctor and engineers, should work in the country where they trained. but other dont think like that they believe that they are free to work in any country according to their wish. but in my opinion they should work in the country where they get training.

on one hand, some individuals say that professionals should work in the same country where they trained, becuase they are trained according to that place problems and relate to them. they should work more efficiently in that region because they get training in same circumstances. for example, a food technologist trained in europe with specialization in insects protein, he works very well in european countries as compared to the pakistan because in pakistan there is no concept of insects as a food. however, in europe he works more efficiently due to the availibility of the environment same as where he get training.

in contrast, certain people argue that they work in any country where they want to work. becuause, of the respect of his choice. they also said that whole world equally need trained people to solve problems. for examples if a trained food technologist in europe go to work in pakistan they should solve the food security problem by introducing insects protein to the people of that region.

in conclusion, professionals should work in the country where they get knowledge becuase they work easliy beacuse they get the same enviornment and they relate to them

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both views on whether professionals should work in their training country and providing a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive, particularly in the conclusion which merely restates previous points without adding further insight. Crucially, as highlighted in the length check, the text contains 248 words, falling just short of the 250-word minimum requirement. This negative length constraint requires a penalty, pulling the task achievement score down. Examples of ideas include discussing food technologists in Europe versus Pakistan, though the support lacks depth. Band score: 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay attempts a logical structure with an introduction, body paragraphs addressing each side, and a conclusion. However, paragraphing is visually poor, with text lacking capitalisation at the start of sentences and the conclusion merging awkwardly. Cohesive devices are basic and repetitive, such as 'on one hand', 'in contrast', and 'in conclusion', but referencing (e.g., 'they', 'he') is mostly clear enough to follow the progression of ideas. While paragraph separation is attempted, formatting issues and mechanical linking limit the overall coherence. Band score: 5.0.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is of a limited, basic range, sufficient to communicate the general argument but inadequate for higher-band descriptors. There are numerous word choice and spelling errors throughout the text, such as 'becuase' (because), 'availibility' (availability), and 'easliy' (easily). The writer attempts some less common topic-related vocabulary like 'food technologist' and 'specialization', but these are offset by frequent lexical inaccuracies and repetition of basic terms like 'work', 'trained', and 'country'. Communication is generally maintained despite these flaws. Band score: 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The student relies heavily on simple and compound sentence structures, with attempts at complex sentences that frequently contain errors or awkward phrasing (e.g., 'some people thinks that professionals, like doctor and engineers...'). There is a complete lack of punctuation standardisation, including lowercase letters at the beginnings of sentences and missing full stops. Grammatical errors are frequent, involving subject-verb agreement ('some people thinks'), singular/plural mismatches ('like doctor'), and tense inconsistencies. These errors cause some difficulty for the reader, though the core meaning usually remains discernible. Band score: 5.0.
