Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses both views regarding whether professionals should stay in their home country or be free to work abroad, and it provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. For instance, the student repeatedly relies on phrases like 'as compared to other country' without introducing new analytical depth or specific supporting details beyond basic assertions. The arguments regarding why professionals leave and why they should stay are somewhat generalised and under-developed. While all parts of the prompt are addressed, the lack of thorough elaboration places this performance at the lower end of the task response scale, matching Band 5 descriptors where ideas are limited and partially developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The text suffers from severe structural and formatting issues. The entire response is written as a single, giant run-on paragraph with no logical paragraph breaks to separate the introduction, the discussion of the two views, the writer's opinion, and the conclusion. There is a total absence of standard punctuation, capitalisation, and sentence boundaries. Although basic cohesive conjunctions like 'and' and 'on the other hand' are attempted, the lack of paragraphing and excessive repetition result in a mechanical and difficult read. Progression is obscured by the sprawling sentence structure. This falls squarely within Band 4, where information and ideas are not arranged coherently.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is very basic and repetitive, frequently recycling words like 'country', 'other', and 'intelligent'. There are numerous spelling errors and word-form inaccuracies, such as 'copasred' for compared, 'built' for build, 'prople' for people, 'preafer' for prefer, 'thir' for their, and 'sucessfull' for successful. The range of vocabulary is severely limited and inadequate for discussing a complex socio-economic topic with precision. While meaning can generally be deciphered through context, the errors in word choice and spelling cause noticeable difficulty for the reader, aligning with Band 4 descriptors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

Grammatical control is extremely weak throughout the response. The entire text is essentially one long string of clauses linked by coordinating conjunctions ('and') without proper sentence demarcation, capitalisation, or full stops. There are numerous basic grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('country need such intelligent people their is lack of such intelligent peoples'), incorrect verb forms ('they should stay in their own countries and help the peoples'), and missing articles. The range of structures is extremely limited, consisting almost entirely of repetitive coordinate clauses. Frequent structural errors distort the flow and place the response at Band 4.
