Student answer (Band 6.0)
There is an ongoing controversy about the
final workplace for individuals who hold high education degree. Some people argue that doctors and engineers should continue to work in the same country where they did training, while others contend that those individuals should allow to work in different country if they want. I believe that employees should have the freedom of chosing the country they want without any enforcement.
On the one hand, those who believe that doctors need to stay in the same country where they finish their training argue that this will improve the healthcare sector of their country. When doctors work in hospitals during their vocational training they gain invaluable experience and knowledge while treating patients with different health issues. For example, physicins who finished their vocational training in the USA hospitals during five years period have greater experience in treating patient with asthma. If those doctors enforce to to continue to work in the same country, larger number of physicins will be avialable to cover repiratoray problems departmant. As a result, governmant may not face future shortage in this departmant and citizens will benefits from 24 hours service in hospital without need to wait longer time.
On the other hand, those who believe that doctors should have freedom to select the country thy wish to work in future argue that the quality of service will reduce if person enforced to work in country they dislike. When doctors enforced to serive in place they wish to change, there performance will reduce, which will negatively affect the quailty of services they offer to their patient. For instance, dentists who forced to work in NHS in the UK after finishing vocational training in NHS hospital may provide bad filling for their patients in the future. Subsequently, people will receive low treamtent from their dentists. Therefore, doctors should have the freedom to select the country they prefere, so no harm will result for population.
In conclusion, although enforcing doctors to work in the country where they finished their training provids substantial benefits for citizens, allowing them to select where they want to work is the most effective solution to avoid any future harms for people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response successfully addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both views—that professionals should work in their training country and that they should have the freedom to move abroad—while clearly stating the writer's own opinion in the introduction and conclusion. Ideas are extended and supported with relevant examples, such as the mention of doctors gaining experience in US hospitals and NHS dentists. Although the prompt mentions professionals broadly, the response appropriately focuses on doctors as a primary case study to illustrate the arguments. The position is clear throughout, and the main ideas are well developed, aligning comfortably with the requirements of a Band 7 performance under Task Achievement.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay displays a clear logical organization with an introduction, two body paragraphs exploring opposing views, and a concluding summary. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion' are used to signal the progression of ideas. However, paragraphing and internal cohesion sometimes feel a bit mechanical or repetitive in structure. Referencing is generally clear, though occasional awkward transitions between sentences slightly disrupt the flow. Overall, the structural progression is logical and easy to follow, justifying a Band 6.5 or solid Band 7 for Coherence and Cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The writer demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary suitable for the task, successfully incorporating topic-specific terms such as 'healthcare sector', 'vocational training', and 'respiratory problems'. However, there are several lexical errors and awkward word choices throughout the text, such as 'high education degree' instead of 'higher education degree', 'physicins' (spelling error), 'repiratoray' (spelling error), and 'quailty'. While these errors do not impede communication, they reflect the limitations characteristic of a Band 6, where attempts at less common vocabulary are accompanied by noticeable spelling and word-choice inaccuracies.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting relative clauses and conditional structures. However, grammatical accuracy is inconsistent. There are numerous recurrent errors, particularly with passive voice constructions and verb forms, such as 'should allow to work' instead of 'should be allowed to work', 'If those doctors enforce to to continue' instead of 'If those doctors are forced to continue', and 'there performance' instead of 'their performance'. While these errors rarely completely obscure the meaning, their frequency prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Control of basic grammar needs strengthening.
