Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum length requirement of 250 words, stopping at only 141 words. Because of this severe under-length, the ideas cannot be fully developed as required by the task prompt. While the student does introduce both views and gives a clear personal opinion (I agree with the latter one), the discussion remains extremely limited and superficial. For example, the arguments regarding the economic benefits of professionals staying in their home country are cut short without adequate extension or supporting examples. Consequently, the response aligns best with Band 4 descriptors for Task Achievement due to the minimal development and failure to satisfy the task length instructions.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay attempts a standard introduction outlining both views and the writer's position, followed by a body paragraph discussing the first perspective. However, the progression is disrupted because the essay ends abruptly mid-argument due to the low word count. Cohesive devices are basic and repetitive, such as 'On the one side' and 'One of the primay reason is'. Paragraphing is attempted, but the overall structure is underdeveloped because the second view and conclusion are missing entirely. Referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen in the phrasing 'give good treatment for our natin nation'. This level of organisation and mechanical cohesion reflects Band 5 performance.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, with numerous spelling and word-choice errors that detract from the writing. Examples of incorrect spellings and forms include 'professionl', 'enginners', 'freedomly', 'knowleged', 'experince', 'primay', and 'natin'. The student attempts some topic-related vocabulary such as 'professionals', 'doctors', and 'economy', but the lexical range is limited and minimally adequate. Word choices often lack precision, such as using 'freedomly' instead of 'freely' or 'to work independently'. These frequent lexical errors and limited range place the response squarely at Band 4.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

The grammatical range is very limited, relying primarily on simple sentences alongside a few faulty attempts at complex structures. There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues and missing articles (e.g., 'few individuals think', 'it provide opportunity', 'lead healthy life'). Punctuation and spacing are also problematic, as seen in missing spaces after commas (e.g., 'On the one side, there'). While simple sentences are generally understandable, the frequency of errors across basic and complex structures causes noticeable difficulty for the reader, matching the criteria for Band 4.
