Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is widely argued that professional degree holders such as doctors and engineers, must be required to hold a job in the country where they completed their studies. While others believe that they should be independent to work in any other country where they want. From my point of view, freedom is a right of every individual and they will be free to work in any foreign country.
First and foremost, some people want that talented workers like doctors and engineers, need to serve the country from where they accomplished their study and get trained. Moreover, every professional worker can play an pivotal role in the development and progress of their country. For instance, the skilled persons of the Australia are not granted permission to hold jobs in any other country.
However, several individuals supports the view to providing freedom to every person to select their desired country to work because of high salaries expectations and quality living standard. Independence is the primary right of every individual. Usually, people are paid well in foreign countries compared to their own country and also get chances for getting speedily promotions according to their performance. For example, the professional employees of Pakistan are frequently applying in other countries for holding jobs and are expected to get a massive amount of money that they cannot achieve in their own country.
In conclusion, every person of the society should be independent to choose their working country for being comfortable on their work and also to fulfil their needs.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views—that professionals should work in their training country and that they should have the freedom to work abroad—and provides the writer's own opinion in the introduction and conclusion. However, the ideas are relatively underdeveloped and lack strong, specific supporting evidence. For instance, the example provided for the first view regarding Australia is overly generalised and lacks accurate contextual depth. Similarly, the points raised regarding higher salaries and promotions in the third paragraph are somewhat repetitive and could be elaborated with more robust explanation. The position is stated, but the overall depth and extension of ideas align more closely with a Band 6 level.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with clear paragraphing, dividing the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion appropriately. Cohesive devices are used to signal shifts, such as 'First and foremost', 'Moreover', and 'However'. However, some of the referencing and transitions feel somewhat mechanical or faulty, such as 'While others believe that they should be independent to work...', which is a sentence fragment dependent on the preceding sentence. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the logical links between sentences occasionally feel abrupt, placing this criterion at a solid Band 6 level.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common phrases such as 'pivotal role', 'high salaries expectations', and 'speedily promotions'. However, there are noticeable word choice and collocation inaccuracies throughout the text, such as 'independent to work' instead of 'free to work', 'accomplished their study' instead of 'completed their studies', and 'getting speedily promotions' instead of 'rapid promotions'. Spelling is generally accurate, but the lexical errors prevent the score from reaching higher bands, making a Band 6 descriptor most appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The response demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar is inconsistent. There are several grammatical errors and awkward phrasings, such as 'some people want that talented workers... need to serve' (incorrect complement clause structure), 'the skilled persons of the Australia' (unnecessary article), and 'frequently applying in other countries for holding jobs' (preposition and verb choice issues). While these errors do not severely impede overall communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent the writing from achieving a Band 7. Therefore, a Band 6 is awarded.
