Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some people believe that professionals, such as doctors and engineers, should be required to work in the country where they did their training. Others argue about that. In my opinion professionals should be free to work in any countries is the best for their progress.

On the one hand, doctors and engineers take training in one country, the country provides them knowledge and skills. they give internship so, they want some hope of their countries development of infrastructure, medical, it sectors, economical and etc. Many countries companies provide internship, company spend their time, develop professional skills in aspect of some return from a workers. For example, many companies give training to fresher with agreement of 2 or 3 years bond. if they not stay in their company hence, they pay fine.

On the other hand, many students not take technical skill in their country therefore, they go for study and training in other country. Many professional is trained in other country and go for their home country to develop and work with their home country. Although, professional also go for their progressive growth , which country provides them all facilities like technological advancements, life style, financially. However some countries who are professional in specific field likewise infrastructure, it sector and medical which give professionals to their rapid skill growth. For instance, Dubai who is famous for their infrastructure So civil engineers see their skill growth in it.

In conclusion, many country hope for to work in their country because they give their important time to skill workers, but professionals faces many problems like agreement bonds. In my opinion skill should be free to work in any country like their home country and their future skill growth countries.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both views—that professionals should work where they trained and that they should be free to relocate—and includes a personal opinion. However, the task is addressed only partially, as the ideas are limited and under-developed. For instance, the discussion around companies providing internships and bonds is introduced but lacks depth and clear elaboration. Similarly, the points regarding lifestyle and technological advancements in countries like Dubai are stated simply without being fully extended. To move to a higher band, the writer needs to expand on their supporting arguments with more thoroughly explained examples and maintain a clearer, more fully developed progression of ideas throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is some organisation in the essay, with clear paragraph breaks separating the introduction, the two body paragraphs discussing opposing views, and the conclusion. However, there is no clear overall progression, and the logical flow between sentences is occasionally hindered by abrupt transitions, such as starting a sentence with 'they give internship so' or 'Although, professional also go for their progressive growth'. Cohesive devices are sometimes inaccurate or repetitive, and referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the pronoun use in 'many country hope for to work in their country because they give their important time to skill workers'. To improve coherence, the writer should ensure smoother transitions between ideas and use a wider, more accurate range of cohesive devices to connect sentences and paragraphs logically.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate for the task. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'technological advancements' and 'progressive growth', but there are noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and word form that may cause some difficulty for the reader. Examples include 'take training' instead of 'receive training', 'economical' instead of 'economic', 'fresher' instead of 'fresh graduates', and 'skill workers' instead of 'skilled workers'. There are also awkward phrasings like 'future skill growth countries'. To achieve a higher band, the writer needs to expand their lexical range and pay closer attention to correct word forms and natural collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer demonstrates a limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences alongside a few attempts at complex sentences that are often faulty. There are frequent errors in grammar, punctuation, and sentence construction, which can occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. Notable issues include missing or incorrect articles ('take training in one country', 'in other country'), incorrect verb forms and tense consistency ('if they not stay', 'many students not take'), subject-verb agreement errors ('professional is trained', 'professionals faces'), and run-on sentences or comma splices. To reach the next level, the writer must incorporate a wider variety of complex sentence forms with greater accuracy and reduce the frequency of basic grammatical errors.
