Student answer (Band 5.0)

Certain people argue that professionals, such as doctors and enginners, should be require to work in the country where they did their training. Others believe they should be free to work overseas if they eager to do. Although both approaches have their merits, i believe that working in abroad is generally more beneficial for professionals.

Firstly, the major reason for being a worker in diffrent country is broad exposure and greate flexibility for their lives, because a skilled worker, such as doctors, engineers and others can readily experience new working strategies and rules. For instance, professionals jobs are becoming increasingly popular in other countries rather than its motherland, therefore professionals often goes to abroad for better future, because abroad countries offers substantial jobs volume. In addition, diffrent countries are providing residentialship for actual professionals, which is definitely harmful for its native country, but significantly helpful for professionals overall devlopment.

On the other hand, enormous jobs opportunities from overseas can have a detrimental affect on the country where they did their training, because they utterly experienced their managment rules and workflow for that particular country. Furthermore, it can be quite challenging to move in a new country for a new lifestyle because there are a lot of things which will must be learnt.

In my opinion, although moving in another country have some drawbacks, initially this viewpoint is more beneficial for professionals.

In conclusion, Abroad countries are offering various opportunities for international professionals, but every professional should not be fully dependend to move in another country.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both views regarding where professionals should work and provides a personal opinion. However, the ideas remain limited and under-developed, which restricts the depth of the discussion. For instance, the arguments regarding broad exposure and the impact on the home country are introduced but lack specific, well-supported examples or full explanation. The position is stated, but the overall progression of ideas feels somewhat repetitive, particularly in the supporting body paragraphs where points about international opportunities are restated without adding new analytical depth. To reach a higher level, the response would need to extend and support all arguments more thoroughly with fully developed examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is a clear attempt to organise the essay into paragraphs, introducing the topic, body arguments, opinion, and a conclusion. However, the logical progression is hindered by repetitive phrasing and some awkward transitions. Cohesive devices are sometimes inaccurate or over-used, such as repetitive reliance on 'Firstly', 'On the other hand', and 'In my opinion' to structure the paragraphs, while referencing within sentences occasionally becomes unclear, such as the ambiguous pronoun use in 'harmful for its native country'. Paragraphing is used, but the internal flow of ideas lacks seamless connection. To improve cohesion, the writer should employ a wider and more accurate range of cohesive ties and ensure each paragraph develops a distinct, smoothly linked progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited but minimally adequate to communicate the basic points of the essay. There are noticeable errors in word choice, word form, and spelling throughout the text, such as 'enginners', 'require' instead of 'required', 'eager to do', 'diffrent', 'greate', 'residentialship', and 'dependend'. The range of vocabulary is restricted, and attempts to use less common items result in awkward collocations or incorrect forms, such as 'abroad countries' or 'jobs volume'. These lexical errors and awkward expressions cause some difficulty for the reader and prevent the response from achieving a higher level of precision and stylistic awareness.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response uses a limited range of sentence structures, and attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty. There are persistent errors in grammar, including subject-verb agreement and prepositional usage within grammatical patterns, such as 'working in abroad' and 'move in a new country'. Punctuation and capitalization issues are also present, such as the lowercase 'i' used for the personal pronoun. While some simple sentences are constructed correctly, frequent grammatical errors occur across the text and can cause occasional difficulty for the reader. To progress, the writer must demonstrate better control over complex sentence patterns and reduce the frequency of basic grammatical slips.
