Student answer (Band 5.0)

Professionals like doctors and engineers are the one of the most educated professions of any country because to become a doctor a person needs to spent almost 25-30 years of thier life and if oneone is spending thier 25-30 years of life in a country they will understand the culture, norms, ethics, laws and mindset of thier people and co-residents.

If someone is becoming a doctor in a particular country like Pakistan and also born in the same country which is Pakistan, the roots of that person is belongs to this country and from thier childhood they know the culture and mindset of thier nation fellows, such like engineers they understand the minds of thier country fellows that what they need and what is the demand.

Every university is working on thier students even a medical or an engineer university according the laws and policies of a particular country even there are alot of multicultural and international students but everyone is bound to obey the rules and regulations of that university or country. Furthermore if anyone from thier childhood or during thier traning in hospital or engineering company will be train accordingly and it is very convenient for them to persue thier career in thier home coutry and they have deep roots and connections in that country and the fellow nation have many hopes from thier professionals.

Furthermore, If any doctor or engineer wants to work in another country it all upto them, that how they can survive in another country, If anyone is earning then they have to spent a lot of thier salaries in thier housing rent, transport, visa fee, health incurance, and many other expences which any person is not liable in thier home country. Beside that the person needs to pass the qualifing exam to become the member of medical and engineering council of that country and to participate in the tranning of that country. For example, many of our collagues and friends are working in UAE who were educated from China and nationals of Pakistan, they all compliants about the lifestyle which were not addopted by them in a different environment and a lot of hurdles and difficulties in thier career.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the task only partially. While the student touches upon the idea that professionals should remain in their home country due to cultural familiarity and local investment, the discussion on the alternative view and the writer's own opinion is limited and unclear. Ideas remain under-developed and are often repetitive, relying heavily on generalized statements regarding Pakistan and doctors without fully exploring the broader implications for engineers and global mobility. To move to a higher level, the writer needs to clearly separate the discussion of both views, provide well-supported arguments for each side, and state and maintain a clear, consistent personal position throughout the essay.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some basic organisation in the response, but it lacks a clear overall progression. The essay relies on very long, run-on sentences connected repeatedly by words like 'and', 'furthermore', and 'if', which makes the flow mechanical and difficult to follow. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal structure of the paragraphs is chaotic, grouping disparate ideas together without logical sequencing. Referencing is frequently unclear, such as the pronoun shifts between 'someone', 'they', and 'thier'. To achieve a higher band, the writer must use paragraphing more effectively to separate distinct ideas and employ a wider, more accurate variety of cohesive devices to guide the reader smoothly through the argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The student attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'multicultural', 'qualification', and 'environment', but these are accompanied by noticeable errors in word form, choice, and spelling, such as 'thier' instead of 'their', 'traning', 'expences', 'incurance', 'qualifing', and 'addopted'. These lexical inaccuracies and persistent spelling mistakes can cause some difficulty for the reader. To improve in this area, the student should expand their range of topic-specific vocabulary, focus on accurate word formation, and pay closer attention to standard English spelling conventions.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response demonstrates a very limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on long, convoluted compound sentences rather than a controlled mix of simple and complex forms. Attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty, leading to serious structural breakdowns and run-on sentences. There are frequent grammatical errors in subject-verb agreement, pluralisation, and prepositions, such as 'Professionals like doctors and engineers are the one of the most educated professions', 'the roots of that person is belongs', and 'university according the laws'. These frequent errors require the reader to decode the meaning and can impede overall communication. To progress, the student must work on sentence boundaries, punctuation, and basic grammatical agreement.
