Student answer (Band 5.0)
Professional's country of training and work has sparked considerable debate over the recent years. While some advocate that professionals, such as doctors and engineers, should be required to work in the country where they did their training, others argue that they should be free to work in any country of their choice.
People who advocate that professional's country of training and work should be same put forward a compelling argument. Firstly, It become professional's resposibility to serve the country in which he studied, to give the country from where he or she took the knowledge and learned skills. Moreover, it is the country who gave an ordinary person the opportunity to learn the skills needed to be professional so it should be a professional's top most prority to serve back to the society, community and country. The country's own people should be benfitted in the first place. A prime example is the doctor, who first attends the elementary and high school in its own country, subsequently, do prefessional studies, house job and its first job in the country. Nevertheless, this view fails in a situation where there are war victims or shortage of skilled professionals in a country and require some skilled professionals from other country to run the country or society.
On the other hand, proponents argue that it should remain personal choice of a professional. There should be freedom of choice for them too to choose where they need to study and work. This approcach also balances the country's growth towards success as there are cons of both, high number and less number of professionals.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
The response sits at this band because it only partially addresses the prompt. While it attempts to discuss both views regarding whether professionals should work in their training country and touches upon a personal opinion, the length requirement was NOT met. The response contains 246 words, falling 4 words short of the 250-word minimum (furthermore, 21 words copied from the task prompt were not counted). The ideas presented are limited and somewhat under-developed, particularly in the conclusion and the second body paragraph, where the reasoning lacks depth and clear structure. The student expresses a view, but the position is not always clearly sustained throughout the entire essay, leading to a minimal and partial response to the task demands.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response shows some basic organization with discernible paragraphs introducing different viewpoints, but it lacks a clear overall progression. Cohesive devices are used rather repetitively and mechanically, such as starting sentences with 'Firstly' and 'Moreover' without smooth transitions between ideas. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, such as the ambiguous pronoun use in sentences like 'it is the country who gave an ordinary person'. Paragraphing is attempted, but the conclusion is underdeveloped or entirely missing, disrupting the logical flow and overall coherence of the essay, which keeps the arrangement disjointed.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The writer uses a limited but minimally adequate range of vocabulary suitable for tackling the prompt, employing words like 'considerable debate', 'proponents', and 'professionals'. However, there are noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and word form, such as 'professional's country' instead of 'professionals' countries', 'top most prority' instead of 'topmost priority', 'benfitted' (spelling error), and 'prefessional studies'. These lexical inaccuracies and occasional spelling mistakes recur throughout the text and may cause some minor difficulty for the reader, though communication of the core ideas is still generally maintained.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The grammatical range is quite limited, relying mostly on simple and flawed attempts at complex sentence structures. There are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that can cause difficulty for the reader, including missing articles ('a doctor', 'the country'), subject-verb agreement issues like 'It become professional's resposibility', and awkward clause structures such as 'the country who gave an ordinary person'. Punctuation and capitalization are also erratic, with unnecessary capitalization in the middle of sentences. These frequent errors across basic and complex structures prevent the response from achieving a higher band.
