Student answer (Band 5.5)
Professional's country of training and work has sparked considerable debate over the recent years. While some advocate that professionals, such as doctors and engineers, should be required to work in the country where they did their training, others argue that they should be free to work in any country of their choice.
People who advocate that professional's country of training and work should be same put forward a compelling argument. Firstly, It become professional's resposibility to serve the country in which he studied, to give the country from where he or she took the knowledge and learned skills. Moreover, it is the country who gave an ordinary person the opportunity to learn the skills needed to be professional so it should be a professional's top most prority to serve back to the society, community and country. The country's own people should be benfitted in the first place. A prime example is the doctor, who first attends the elementary and high school in its own country, subsequently, do prefessional studies, house job and its first job in the country. Nevertheless, this view fails in a situation where there are war victims or shortage of skilled professionals in a country and require some skilled professionals from other country to run the country or society.
On the other hand, proponents argue that it should remain personal choice of a professional. There should be freedom of choice for them too to choose where they need to study and work. This approcach also balances the country's growth towards success as there are cons of both, high number and less number of professionals. With more number of professionals than needed, there is a chance of rise in the number of unemployment in the country. Similarly, with less number of skilled professionals, there is a chance of less growth as a country as well as a society.
In Conclusion, both views have merit, I believe that the professional should be free to choose their country of training and work. Considering that each individual should have a freedom of speech and choice, the professionals should be allowed to freely choose the country. As this also helps in balancing the numbers which leads to country's growth.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the task by discussing both views regarding where professionals should work and providing a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas remains limited and under-developed in places. For example, the argument about serving the home country is repeated across multiple sentences without being extended with deeper economic or ethical analysis. The counter-argument regarding freedom of choice is introduced but lacks fully realised examples. The position is clear by the conclusion, but the overall treatment of the prompt leans slightly repetitive, reflecting a partial and developing approach to the task requirements.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay displays some organisation with a traditional four-paragraph structure and basic attempts at paragraphing. However, there is a lack of clear overall progression between the ideas, making the logical flow feel mechanical at times. Cohesive devices are sometimes inaccurate or over-used, such as the repetitive use of 'Firstly', 'Moreover', and 'Similarly'. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, particularly with pronouns like 'it' and 'they' in the body paragraphs, which causes the connection between ideas to falter and requires the reader to work harder to follow the argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate to communicate the central ideas of the prompt, featuring terms like 'professionals', 'compelling argument', and 'unemployment'. However, there are noticeable lexical errors and awkward word choices, such as 'professional's resposibility', 'top most prority', 'benfitted', and 'prefessional studies'. Spelling errors like 'resposibility' and 'approcach' occur, and while communication is not severely blocked, these frequent inaccuracies prevent the response from achieving a higher level of lexical precision and control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writing demonstrates a very limited range of structures, with frequent errors in basic and complex sentences alike. There are noticeable issues with article usage, subject-verb agreement, and prepositions, such as in 'It become professional's resposibility', 'the country who gave', and 'in its own country'. Attempts at complex structures are frequently faulty, leading to awkward phrasing like 'With more number of professionals than needed, there is a chance of rise in the number of unemployment'. These frequent grammatical errors cause some difficulty for the reader and reflect a restricted control over sentence patterns.
