Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this recent decade, people are free to choose where they want to do their jobs. Some people think that professionals like doctors and engineers should work in the country where they did their training and other belive that working in another country is better.

Starting with the people who think that working from the same country is way much better than working in other countries. In their opinion, they must be right because it might be stable for the professionals. In addition, if professionals will start working from the country where they did their training will have higher work opportunity. For instance, if a student had completed their MBBS from India then he/she will have more paths open in India rather than in other countries.

Moving forwad, a question arives in our mind that moving to other countries is not an option for professionals? The answer is no. To add more, every person have their rights to choose where they want to work. Generally, people believe that working in other countries help them to gain more experience and knowelegde which they can denote to their country. For example, if a person does the study in UK and goes to USA to gain more details about his/her study then, they will definately help UK public with these knowledge. Moreover, another point worth considering is that their should be no pressure on any professional to choose countries.

Personally, i believe that in this deverse country, people should be free to do whatever they want and instead of pressurising them, we should support them in their decisions.

Overall, every situation have advantages as well as drawbacks. The main component we should consider is that working from same country or from different counties does not make a major difference in life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both views on whether professionals should stay in their training country or move abroad, and provides a personal opinion in the conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and uneven across the paragraphs, reflecting the partial approach characteristic of this level. For instance, the discussion on why professionals should stay relies heavily on a single example regarding an MBBS student in India, and the exploration of the opposing view uses rather generalized reasoning about human rights and acquiring international experience. The position is visible throughout the text, but the supporting arguments lack extension and depth. Note that 9 words copied directly from the prompt were excluded from the official word count, but the response still comfortably exceeds the minimum requirement.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a recognizable introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, ensuring that the general progression of the argument can be followed. Paragraphing is used to separate the different viewpoints and the writer's stance. However, the cohesion between and within sentences is sometimes mechanical or faulty. For example, transitional phrases like 'Starting with the people who...' and 'Moving forwad, a question arives in our mind that...' do not connect smoothly to the flow of ideas, and referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the dangling question structure in the third paragraph. While cohesive devices are present, they are occasionally over-used or inaccurate, preventing a seamless logical flow throughout the response.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express basic concepts about professional migration and training. There are noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and word form that can cause some difficulty for the reader and impede precise communication. Examples include spelling mistakes like 'belive', 'forwad', 'arives', 'knowelegde', 'definately', and 'deverse', as well as awkward lexical collocations such as 'doing their jobs' instead of 'pursuing their careers' or 'working', and 'does the study' instead of 'studies' or 'completes their education'. The range of vocabulary remains basic and repetitive throughout the essay, lacking the precision and flexibility needed for higher levels.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty. There are noticeable errors in grammar, punctuation, and agreement that occur with high frequency and can cause difficulty for the reader. Instances include subject-verb agreement issues such as 'every person have their rights' and 'every situation have advantages', preposition errors like 'working from the same country' instead of 'in', and awkward interrogative phrasing acting as statements like 'a question arives in our mind that moving to other countries is not an option for professionals?'. Punctuation and capitalization are also inconsistent, particularly with the lowercase 'i' used for the personal pronoun.
