Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some people believe that professionals like doctors and engineers specifically , should be required to work in the same nation where they did training. While others believe it should be their personal choice. In today's topic, we will discuss both brielfy and i believe they should do as they pleased

Some people believe that professionals specially doctors and engineers, should work in the same nation where they trained is mostly because they should serve the country which gave them the profession and help them in achieveing their dream. They should help their country in raising economy instead of working somewhere else. For example, many people move out of country and they mostly help research for other nations than sorting issues in their own country.

While other believe that they shouold be free to work in another country if they wish because everyone deserves good life and it's their right to opt for better opportunities for their future. For instance, doctors can earn really well in developed countries than in the developing countries so they prefers moving out of country.

In my point of view, for professions like doctors and engineer there should be policy for serving country for atleast 2 to 5 years then they can move out of country as they wish. It would be fair to both of the country and professionals itself. Everyone deserves a good life and future, if one's working hard enough , they should di as they pleased

In conclusion, governerment should work on policies like serving country for atleast for 2-3 years after their training ends. Afterwards, they should be freed to do whatever they choose to do. This way, i think would be fair to both nation and professions

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both views on mandatory domestic service for professionals and providing a personal opinion, placing it in the middle tier. However, the development of ideas remains limited and repetitive. For instance, the argument that professionals should stay to help raise the economy is stated simply without deep elaboration, and the personal stance shifts slightly between offering a compromise of two to five years and concluding with two to three years. The position is visible, but the supporting arguments tend to generalise without sufficient specific context or well-developed examples. To move to a higher band, the ideas need to be extended with fully explored consequences and more thoroughly substantiated explanations.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay displays a discernible organisational structure with an introduction, body paragraphs addressing each viewpoint, a personal opinion, and a conclusion, showing some overall progression of thought. Nevertheless, the use of cohesive devices is mechanical and sometimes inadequate, relying heavily on repetitive transitions such as 'Some people believe that' and 'While other believe that'. Furthermore, referencing and paragraph links lack variety. The introductory sentence contains an informal conversational remark ('In today's topic, we will discuss both brielfy') which disrupts the academic tone. To achieve a higher level of coherence, the writer needs to employ a wider range of cohesive ties more flexibly and ensure that paragraphs flow into one another with smoother logical transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is minimally adequate to communicate the central ideas of the prompt, but the range is limited and repetitive. The student uses basic terms and makes noticeable word-choice and spelling errors that affect precision, such as 'brielfy', 'achieveing', 'shouold', 'govnerment', and 'professions' where 'professionals' is intended. Attempts at less common lexical items are sparse, and repetition of words like 'nation', 'country', and 'professionals' restricts lexical variety. To progress to a higher band, the writer must incorporate a wider repertoire of less common vocabulary and demonstrate greater accuracy in word formation, spelling, and collocation throughout the text.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The text relies on a limited range of sentence structures, and attempts at complex sentences are frequently marred by grammatical errors. There are frequent errors in verb forms, subject-verb agreement, and missing articles, such as 'they should do as they pleased', 'other believe', 'prefer moving out of country', and 'to both of the country and professionals itself'. Punctuation is also problematic, with incorrect spacing and missing commas around intrusive phrases. Although the meaning can generally be deciphered, the frequency of structural errors causes some difficulty for the reader. To reach the next level, the writer needs to demonstrate better control over complex sentence patterns and significantly reduce the frequency of basic grammatical slips.
