Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some people believe that professionals should be bound to work in the country from where they completed their training because they've used this country's resources. However, others argue that they should be free to work in a different country because everyone should have the right to choose. I agree with the latter view.
On the one hand, some people believe that doctors, engineers, and other professionals should be required to work in the country where they did their training. This is because these professionals utilized a country's resources and in return they should serve the country. Doctors and engineers should be obligated to work for public welfare and benefit of this country. For example, students who win Fullbright scholarship in Pakistan can study in the US for free. The government bears all the expenses. However, these students are required to work in Pakistan for atleast two years after their graduation because they've used the country's resources and now have to give it back in this form.
On the other hand, others argue that professionals should be free to work in any country they wish to. This is because everyone should have the right to choose where they want to work. They shouldn't be bounded by any restrictions as everyone should have the right to upgrade their lifestyle if they have the opportunity to do that. Doctors, engineers and other professionals work very hard during their trainings, therefore they should have the freedom to choose any opportunity that would open doors for them. For example, doctos in the US are paid more than the doctors in Pakistan. Hence, if a doctor is able to secure a job in the US they shouldn't be forced to stay back.
In conclusion, even though some people believe that professionals should be restricted to work in the country where they did their training because it's their obligation to serve this country, I believe that everyone should have the right to choose better opportunties even if that means working in a different country.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You have addressed all parts of the task by discussing both views—that professionals should stay in their home country and that they should be free to move—and you clearly stated your own opinion in the introduction and conclusion. Your position is maintained throughout the response. However, your ideas are somewhat unevenly developed. While the view supporting the restriction is backed by a specific example regarding scholarships in Pakistan, the arguments supporting the freedom to choose rely more on general assertions. To move towards a higher band, you need to extend and fully develop all your main ideas with equally robust supporting details rather than relying on slight generalisations.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
Your essay has a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs exploring opposing views, and a concluding paragraph. You make use of standard cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion' to signal the structure of your argument. However, the progression of ideas occasionally feels a bit mechanical, and referencing is at times repetitive, particularly with phrases like 'some people believe' and 'everyone should have the right to choose' appearing frequently. To achieve a higher level of cohesion, you should integrate cohesive devices more naturally and vary your referencing techniques across sentences.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully incorporating topic-specific terms such as 'professionals', 'public welfare', 'scholarship', and 'opportunity'. You also attempt some less common vocabulary, but there are instances of imprecise word choice and word form errors, such as 'bounded' instead of 'bound' and spelling slips like 'atleast' and 'doctos' and 'opportunties'. These lexical inaccuracies do not impede communication, placing your vocabulary securely at this level. To reach a higher band, you need to use a wider range of sophisticated, less common lexical items with greater precision, natural collocation, and flawless spelling.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You employ a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating control over relative clauses and conditional structures. There are several error-free sentences, such as your opening statement and transitional sentences. However, some grammatical errors persist, including missing articles (e.g., 'for benefit of this country') and prepositional errors inside grammatical patterns. Punctuation is generally functional, but minor slip-ups occur. These errors rarely impede communication. To attain a higher band, you should aim to produce a greater frequency of error-free complex sentences and demonstrate finer control over articles and prepositions.
