Student answer (Band 4.5)

When you select your profession you do hard work for it. If you wants to become a doctor than you should have to do hard work for this . Every profession is hard in there on way . Nothing is easy .

When someone select their profession they also think about their job . Everyone have different dreams . Some people want to work in their own country but someone do not want to. Firstly, we will discuss those people who want to work in there own country . They could be a doctor and engineer . If someone want to become a doctor he surly want to work in his own country. He wanted to help his own country. These type of people are mostly those guys who loves their country.

Secondly, we will dicuss about those people who wanted to do work in the other country . These people wanted to work in the ither country because their profession do not pay much in their own country. Their profession must have more scope in the other country. They wantes to utilize their study. They wanted to become a successful person . But some people misunder stood them.

In my opinion , you should have to work in your own country. Because in your own country you are safe .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You identify both views: some professionals want to serve their own country, while others seek better pay or career opportunities abroad. You also give a clear opinion in the final paragraph that they should work at home. However, the discussion is very brief and the reasons are only minimally developed; for example, “help his own country” and “their profession do not pay much” are not supported with specific explanation or an example. The task asks whether professionals should be required to stay or be free to leave, but your response mainly describes what individuals may want rather than examining that requirement. The response is also 29 words below the 250-word minimum. Develop both sides, address the question of choice directly, and support your position with a relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a basic paragraph structure: an introduction, a paragraph for each view, and a concluding opinion. Signposts such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “In my opinion” help the reader recognise the stages of your answer. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and several ideas are repeated, particularly the statements about people wanting to work in their own or another country. Some links between sentences are unclear, such as the move from professionals seeking work abroad to “some people misunderstood them.” The opening paragraph also focuses on hard work without clearly introducing the debate. To improve, organise each body paragraph around one main reason, explain it, and connect it to the question with clear referencing.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use basic vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “profession,” “doctor,” “engineer,” “country,” and “successful.” This is enough to communicate the general subject, but the range is repetitive and some word choices or phrases are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “more scope,” “utilize their study,” and “these type of people.” Spelling errors, including “dicuss,” “ither,” and “wantes,” also reduce accuracy. Try learning topic-specific expressions for professional migration and public service, and check spelling during revision. More precise phrases would help you explain the competing reasons, such as career prospects, shortages of skilled workers, and obligations to the country that funded training.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You mainly use short, simple sentences, with a few attempts to link ideas using “because” and “if.” This keeps much of the meaning understandable, but the range of sentence structures is narrow and errors occur frequently. Examples include “If you wants,” “Everyone have,” and “If someone want,” where subject–verb agreement is incorrect. There are also problems with verb forms and sentence construction, as in “He wanted to help his own country” after a general present-tense claim, and “you should have to work,” which combines modal forms awkwardly. Punctuation and spacing are inconsistent. Practise accurate present-tense statements and build longer sentences by joining a reason to its explanation, while checking agreement and verb forms.
