Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

The opening identifies the topic and gives a position: “I believe that professionals should be choose where they work.” However, the response stops after beginning the first supporting paragraph (“there are the several reasons why professionals should work in the”), so it does not explain either view, develop reasons, or provide examples. As a result, the discussion and opinion are only minimally addressed. The response contains 70 words, which is 180 words below the required minimum of 250; this severe lack of development leaves the task substantially incomplete. To improve, complete both sides of the discussion, state your view clearly, and support each main point with explanation or a relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: the introduction presents the issue and the writer’s view, and “On the one hand” signals the start of a body paragraph. This gives the reader an initial sense of direction. However, the paragraph ends mid-sentence, and there is no completed discussion, contrasting paragraph, or conclusion, so progression cannot be sustained. The linking phrase “Although both views have valid arguments” introduces a contrast, but the promised arguments are not developed. Build a clear sequence of introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion; use linking expressions to show how each reason relates to the writer’s position.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The response uses some relevant topic vocabulary, including “professionals,” “development,” “education,” and “freedom,” and attempts to express the issue in an academic style. However, the short response offers little range, and several spelling or word-choice errors reduce accuracy: “enigineers,” “recevied,” “there education,” “proffessionals,” and “persue.” The phrase “have a persue our career to abroad” is also unclear and does not express the intended idea naturally. These errors are noticeable, although the general topic remains understandable. Proofread spelling and choose standard collocations, such as “pursue a career abroad” and “received their training,” then use a wider range of precise terms when developing the arguments.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts both a complex opening sentence (“Although both views have valid arguments…”) and a contrastive structure (“On the one hand…”), showing some awareness of sentence variety. However, grammatical control is inconsistent. In “professionals should be choose,” the verb form is incorrect; “should choose” is needed. “There are the several reasons” has an unnecessary article, and “where they received their education” is followed by the incorrect possessive “there” rather than “their.” The phrase “have a persue our career to abroad” also contains faulty sentence construction. Because the response is very brief and ends mid-sentence, there is little evidence of sustained control. Practise modal verb patterns and possessives, and check each sentence for a complete, grammatically consistent structure.
