Student answer (Band 5.5)

Professional are considered as the backbone in every countries economy as they are the highest tax payers and literate people. I believe that every working professionals should have freedom to work in another country if they wish as it is the matter of personal choice.

The most concerning and challenging part, which has now become a trend is to force the skilled professional to work in the country where they did their training. It must be decided by that individual that whether he wish to work in the country where he learned or he want to work in another country. Largest population of the world do not have enough income in their home country and they wish to move out of their country to get better oppourtunity and better quality of life. For instance, a large number of population migrates from African countries to European countries to earn better remuneration and to ensure safety of their family. Overall, it is the personal matter and no one have right to persuade them to work in the country they studied.

On the contrary, there is a strong reason to believe that, these working professional should focus to improve the country where they studied because its their duty and responsiblity to make that country remains one step ahead of the world. For example, in a South Asian country many scientist prefer to work in their own country to maintain integrity and security of the nation.

In conclusion, it completely depends on the situation and personal choice that where these professional prefers to work as they are human and no one should convience them to do against their own wish.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You present a clear opinion in favour of allowing professionals to choose where they work, and you discuss both the freedom-of-choice argument and the case for serving the country where training took place. The migration example gives some support to your view. However, the second position is developed only briefly: the claim that professionals have a duty to keep their country “one step ahead” is not explained, and the example about scientists and national security is too general to show how this applies to doctors and engineers. The opening also focuses on professionals’ tax contributions and literacy rather than directly framing the debate. Develop each side with a clearer reason and a more specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph supporting freedom of movement, a contrasting paragraph, and a conclusion. Connectors such as “For instance,” “On the contrary,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and some links feel mechanical. For example, “The most concerning and challenging part” does not clearly identify what is concerning, while “Overall” introduces a conclusion before the opposing view is discussed. References such as “these working professional” also make it less clear who or what is being discussed. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main claim, then connect the explanation and example directly to it.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “skilled professional,” “remuneration,” “quality of life,” and “integrity and security.” These choices show an attempt to discuss migration and national interests beyond basic everyday language. However, the range is uneven, and several inaccurate or unnatural choices reduce precision: “highest tax payers,” “better oppourtunity,” “focus to improve,” and “convience them” do not express the intended ideas naturally. Spelling errors such as “responsiblity” and “oppourtunity” are also noticeable. Aim for accurate collocations and check spelling carefully; for example, describe professionals as “highly qualified” and say they may “contribute to their home country’s development.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a relative clause in “The most concerning and challenging part, which has now become a trend…” and a reason clause beginning “because.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction occur throughout. Examples include “every working professionals should,” “whether he wish,” “population … do not have,” and “no one have right.” The final sentence, “it completely depends on the situation and personal choice that where…,” is also awkwardly constructed. Practise checking subject–verb agreement and forming indirect questions, and keep complex sentences shorter until their structure is secure.
