Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some people argue that skilled individual, such as doctors and engineers, should be need to work in their own country where they did their practice, while others believe that they should go anywhere they want for their employment. This essay will discuss both perspectives Before explaining why I believe that they should initially work in their own country to gain valuable experience and after gaining sufficient experience, they can pursue employment opportunities in any country they choose.

One the one hand, professional should gain a significant amount of experience and knowledge through working in their own country. This is mainly because we have the least amount of skilled people in our country that can help people who are in need. For instance, a recent survey found that almost 75% professionals are tend to working in the foreign countries. This approach may have a negative effect not only the countries' economy but also in the hospitals and companies where skilled people are needed. Consequently, experienced people should spend some amount of time in their own country.

On the other hand, those who believe that professional should go anywhere they want argue that this approach may help them achieve better long-term career prospects. The main reason is that in the foreign countries they have a wide range of latest and advance machines and tool that ultimately facilitate them to experience more advance technologies. For example, a recent survey found that robotic surgery for kidney transplants is being performed in China. For this and many other reasons, it should be valauble for professional to go whereever they want.

In conclusion, sme people believe that professionals should stay here, while other argue that they can go anwhere. I believe that we should consider both perspective as both views have their own merits for those individuals.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both sides of the discussion and state a position: professionals should first work in their home country, then be free to move. The two body paragraphs give relevant reasons, including local shortages of skilled workers and access to advanced technology abroad. However, the position is not fully consistent: the introduction supports a staged approach, while the conclusion says only that both views have merits, without restating your own preference. Some support is also unclear or insufficiently explained, such as the claim that 75% of professionals work abroad and how this affects the economy or services. Develop the evidence and explain more directly why your proposed balance is preferable.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for each view, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the discussion. However, some links are mechanical, and progression within paragraphs could be clearer. For example, the survey statistic is followed by a broad claim about effects on the economy, hospitals, and companies without explaining the connection. The introduction’s sentence beginning “This essay will discuss both perspectives” also runs into the writer’s opinion, making the opening difficult to follow. Use clearer sentence boundaries and connect each example explicitly to the point it supports; make the conclusion refer back to the position established earlier.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of vocabulary, including “skilled people,” “career prospects,” “advanced technologies,” and “robotic surgery,” which allows you to discuss both sides of the issue. There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “valuable experience.” However, inaccurate word choice and collocation sometimes make the meaning less natural: “should be need to work,” “are tend to working,” and “latest and advance machines and tool” are examples. Spelling errors such as “valauble,” “whereever,” and “anwhere” also reduce accuracy. Aim to use familiar expressions precisely, check word forms and spelling, and avoid repeating general terms such as “professional” when a more exact phrase is available.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a sentence with “not only…but also” and clauses introduced by “because” and “while.” This gives the response some structural variety, and the main ideas are generally understandable. However, some grammatical errors affect clarity and control. Examples include “One the one hand” and “This essay will discuss both perspectives Before explaining,” where the opening structure and punctuation are faulty. There are also agreement and verb-pattern problems in “professional should gain” and “75% professionals are tend to working,” as well as an incomplete comparison in “not only the countries’ economy but also in the hospitals.” Practise accurate sentence boundaries, articles, plural agreement, and verb patterns while retaining your attempts at complex sentences.
