Student answer (Band 6.0)

Many people think doctors and engineers should serve the country from were they aqcuired degree while some oppose the view that they should have freedom of choice of where they wish to work. In my view, no one should be bound by restrictions because it is the basic rights of any human being.

If professionals with noble jobs continue to work in the country from where they get their degree, they can significantly rise the economy of the country by providing service, as they will be able to understand the needs of patients and infrastructure more better than foreign professionals. Doctors can treat patients effectively because they can easily diagnose the prevalent diseases in the country while engineers can suggest for improvements in roads and highways construction as they are aware of the traffic congestion in the country. Public would trust them more than international doctors as they can speak the same language as them.

On the other hand, if professionals prefer to move abroad its mainly because of better opportunities. Employment rates are higher than in their own country. They get to practice with the most advanced technology providing better outcomes which opens the door of career advancements. Doctors can work with the best surgeons and learn need diseases and treatments while engineers get to experience advanced technology used for construction and learn about new raw materials.

Both views have their own benefits but I believe professionals should get to choose their hard. This way they can better serve their country.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You discuss both positions and state a clear view: professionals should not be restricted because choosing where to work is a basic right. The first side is supported with relevant examples about local disease knowledge, infrastructure needs and shared language; the second is linked to better employment and access to technology. This addresses the task, but the two views are not developed equally. The case for requiring trained professionals to serve locally is explained in more detail, while the benefits of working abroad are mostly listed rather than explored. The conclusion also introduces “better serve their country,” which slightly complicates your earlier position that professionals should be free to choose. Clarify how individual choice and national benefit can coexist, and develop the second view with a specific example or consequence.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. “On the other hand” effectively signals the shift to the opposing argument, and the examples generally follow the point they support. This coherent arrangement meets the lower-band expectations and shows some features of stronger progression. However, links between ideas within paragraphs are sometimes mechanical, with several claims joined by “as” or simply placed in sequence. The conclusion’s reference to serving the country is not fully reconciled with the freedom-of-choice position, so the line of argument loses some clarity at the end. Use clearer links to show cause and effect, and make the conclusion directly restate your position without adding a potentially conflicting claim.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “prevalent diseases,” “infrastructure,” “employment rates,” and “advanced technology,” which helps communicate the main ideas. There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “career advancements.” However, noticeable spelling and word-choice or collocation errors reduce precision: “aqcuired” is misspelled, “rise the economy” is not a natural collocation, and “learn need diseases” appears to use the wrong word. Phrases such as “choose their hard” also make the intended meaning unclear. Aim for accurate, natural combinations rather than adding ambitious vocabulary; proofreading spelling and checking collocations would make your meaning more consistently clear.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including conditional structures such as “If professionals … continue to work …, they can…” and clauses explaining why doctors can treat patients effectively. Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors affect accuracy. For example, “Public would trust them” needs an article or plural form, and “its mainly because” needs an apostrophe in “it’s.” The sentence beginning “They get to practice…” also has an unclear connection between the subject and the phrase “providing better outcomes.” Punctuation and spacing are inconsistent, as in “country.They.” Review articles, possessives, and sentence boundaries, and check that participle phrases clearly refer to the intended subject.
