Student answer (Band 6.0)

Some individuals thinks that experts like doctors and engineers, should be required to work in the nation where they finished their training due to investment in training them to developing the nation. while others think that they have freedom to choose working in a foriegn country, since its their right. I believe that choosing where to work is personal choice that should not be interfared by anyone.

On the first hand, some people think that training any professionals are very expensive and time consuming for any nation. There have been scarcity of experts in many countries due to competitve global market which takes trained professional from less developed countries at low cost. The goverments spent alot of money just to train these experts such as providing scholarships at university level and subsidies to help bussiness taking up freshers as interns. For example, the Indian goverment spent alot of their funding providing scholarships such as national scholarship scheme to provide funding to students but these individuals prefer to work in other nation on completion of their degree. As a result highly skilled professionals are very low in percentage in developing nations. However, I disagree with this view because a person choosing foreign company to get hired is doing something completely legal.

On the other hand, others think that professionals have right to choose better employment opportunities and better lifestyle for them and their families. The living condinations and career growth in developed nations are very appealing to experts therefore they choose to work for foriegn company to provide their family a better future. For instance, many japanese people prefer to work in other nations due to toxic work culture and unpaid overtime. Consequently, professionals choose better place where they can achieve career success with happy family. I agree with that since people preference ti work is their choice.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and state a clear opinion: you oppose requiring professionals to remain in the country where they trained, and support their freedom to choose. The discussion of public investment, scholarships and the loss of skilled workers is relevant, as is the point about better opportunities and working conditions abroad. However, the first view is developed more fully than your own reasoning: saying that choosing a foreign employer is “completely legal” does not explain why freedom of choice should outweigh the country’s investment. The example about Japanese workers is also not clearly connected to the specific issue of professionals leaving the country where they trained. Develop the reasoning behind your position and make each example directly support the argument.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a concluding statement of your position. Linking phrases such as “On the other hand,” “For example,” and “As a result” help readers follow the discussion. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. “On the first hand” is not the appropriate counterpart to “On the other hand,” and “However” introduces disagreement without clearly showing how it relates to the preceding example. The final sentence repeats your opinion rather than drawing the two sides together. Use more precise transitions, make references such as “these individuals” unmistakable, and end with a brief synthesis of why personal choice should prevail despite the training costs.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “scholarships,” “subsidies,” “career growth,” and “global market,” and the main ideas remain understandable. There are, however, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors that reduce precision, such as “foriegn,” “condinations,” “competitve,” and “interfared.” Some combinations are also unnatural: “scarcity of experts” would be more idiomatic as “a shortage of skilled professionals,” while “better lifestyle for them” is imprecise. Repeated use of “choose” and “work” also limits flexibility. Build accuracy with common collocations and check spelling carefully; using a few precise expressions is more effective than attempting ambitious wording that does not fit naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “since,” “therefore,” and “due to,” and the overall meaning is generally clear. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with agreement and sentence construction. For example, “Some individuals thinks” should be “Some individuals think,” and “training any professionals are” should be “training professionals is.” The opening also has a sentence boundary and capitalization problem: “nation. while others” should begin a new sentence with “While,” or be joined appropriately. In “I believe that choosing where to work is personal choice,” an article is needed before “personal choice.” Review subject–verb agreement, articles, and punctuation, while continuing to practise complex sentences with accurate clause structure.
