Student answer (Band 5.5)

There are different opinions about the processionals, such as doctors and engineers that they must serve there own country while other believes that they should be free to work anywhere in world the are willing to.

On the one hand, doctors and engineers are highly in demand professions in the world and the most hardworking as well. Many people argues that doctors and engineers must stay in the country where they completed their studies. If a person leaves the country after getting trained this will be difficult for the country as doctors are much needed. For example, in rural areas there is a shortage of qualified doctors if a doctor leaves the country this must be difficult for them. However, engineers are highly demanded as well for the infrastructure of the country, if an engineer leaves the country there would be difficulty in making roads, buildings and other such things.

On the other hand, the professionals should be given free will to choose where they want to show their abilities and skills. As per a professional, it takes years or more to get completely qualified in that specific field. Moreover, there must be different opportunities to prevail in other countries and this would help to build a perfect career as well.

In my opinion, the professional must choose whether they want to stay in the same country or they want to leave for further settlements. There must be no obligations or rules that they are force to stay where they studied it should only depend in the choice of the individual.

In conclusion, this is better if the professional works in the same country for experience purposes but every professional should have the liberty to choose what they want to do with there careers ahead.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response discusses both views and gives a clear personal preference: professionals should be free to choose where they work, although working in their training country may provide experience. The points about shortages of doctors and engineers, and better career opportunities abroad, are relevant. However, the arguments are only partly developed. The rural-doctor example illustrates the concern about shortages, but the essay does not explain how requiring graduates to stay would address this fairly or for how long. The benefits of working abroad are also asserted rather than supported with a specific example. Develop each side with a reason and a concrete illustration, and make the final position consistent with the conclusion’s added emphasis on gaining experience.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, a paragraph stating your opinion, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the discussion. Some connections between ideas are less clear, however. In the first body paragraph, the shift from doctors to engineers and the repeated “if … leaves” construction make the reasoning feel list-like. The opinion paragraph and conclusion also repeat the same point without adding much progression. Use clearer links to show how each example supports the argument, and make references such as “this” more specific so readers can immediately identify the idea being discussed.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “qualified doctors,” “infrastructure,” “opportunities,” and “career,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several noticeable word-choice or spelling errors make expression less natural. “Processionals” appears to be a misspelling of “professionals,” while “free will” is not the natural phrase for freedom to choose employment. “Prevail in other countries” does not clearly express the intended idea of finding opportunities or progressing, and “further settlements” is also unclear in this context. Aim for precise collocations and avoid repeating “country,” “professional,” and “difficult.” For example, use language such as “retain trained staff” and “pursue career opportunities abroad.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts both simple and complex sentences, including conditional structures such as “If a person leaves the country after getting trained…” and a contrast introduced by “while.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in agreement, articles, pronouns, and sentence boundaries recur. Examples include “Many people argues,” “they are force to stay,” and “depend in the choice”; these should be formed with correct agreement and grammatical patterns. The opening sentence is difficult to follow because its clauses are not joined clearly, and the long sentence about engineers needs clearer punctuation or separation. These errors sometimes make the reader pause, although the overall meaning can usually be recovered. Practise accurate clause construction and check subject–verb agreement and sentence boundaries.
