Student answer (Band 6.5)

In recent years, the topic of whether professionals should stay in one own's country or should move abroad has raised a considerable debate. Some people firmly believe that professionals should give their services to the country where they get traning. Whereas, some opponents argue that they should have freedom to work in any other country. This essay will discuss both perspectives, before, concluding that a balanced approach is the most beneficial.

First and foremost, professionals should offer their services to one own's country particularly because the government and public universities often heavily subsidize education, especially on medical and engineering field, so after training it is responsibility of professionals to payback the country. Moreover, local citizens rely on domestic graduates to maintain essential healthcare systems. It also reflects honesty, patriotism and dedication of love to their country. Furthermore, developing countries significantly rely on their own professionals to increase creativity, innovation and development plans. For instance, countries like Zimbawe hold certificates for professionals in healthcare systems to have their staff remained.

On the other hand, it is fundamental right of a professional to choose his own career, earn by his own choosed way, to search for better opportunities, and seek more advanced method and technologies from developed and successful countries. Furthermore, global markets give chance to an individual to have financial stability, secure future, and professional fulfillment than local economies. A clear example is that, a country like Pakistan, where job opportunities are very less, as a result professionals move abroad in order to carry expenses of their familes.

In conclusion, I believe that a professional should has a right to go wherever he want, but, a far more pragmatic approach is that he first learns advanced methodologies of developed countries and then should come back to implement that on their own country to increase productivity.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address both views and give a clear final preference for professionals’ freedom to work abroad, while proposing that they later return with new skills. The reasons are relevant: public investment in training, local healthcare needs, career choice, and limited employment in Pakistan. This meets the task well, and the return-and-contribute proposal adds a thoughtful element. However, the discussion is unevenly developed: the claim that professionals should repay the country is explained, but the Zimbabwe example is unclear and does not show how the policy works or what its effects are. The benefits of working abroad could also be linked more directly to the wider issue. Develop each example and make the relationship between your balanced proposal and your stated preference more explicit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0

The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. The progression is easy to follow, and signposts such as “First and foremost,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers identify the stages of the argument. This is a strong organisational foundation. At times, however, linking is somewhat formulaic, with several sentences beginning “Moreover” or “Furthermore,” and some ideas are joined without a clear relationship. For example, the sentence about honesty and patriotism follows the healthcare point but its connection could be explained. Improve cohesion by varying transitions and using clearer references between claims and examples; also ensure punctuation separates sentences cleanly.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “subsidize education,” “financial stability,” “professional fulfillment,” and “advanced methodologies.” These choices help express both the public-interest and individual-rights arguments. You also attempt more formal and less common expressions, but some are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “raised a considerable debate,” “payback the country,” and “earn by his own choosed way.” Spelling and word-form errors, including “traning,” “familes,” and “Zimbawe,” also reduce precision. These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding your main points, but they limit the naturalness of the writing. Focus on accurate collocations and check spelling and word forms during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex structures, including a reason clause beginning “because” and a relative clause in “where job opportunities are very less.” The main argument remains understandable, but some errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries weaken control. For example, “a professional should has” should use the base verb after “should,” and “wherever he want” needs agreement. The opening “Whereas” is a fragment, while “before, concluding” has incorrect punctuation. There are also unclear shifts between singular and plural references. Practise checking each sentence for a complete main clause, subject–verb agreement, and correct verb forms, while retaining your attempts at complex sentences.
