Student answer (Band 5.5)

Professionals are the basic unit of any well-developed society. Some people argue that professionls should work in their native country and where they completed their training sessions while some other people argue that they have there own choice that they are free to choose where they want to work. I will discuss both views and then give my own opinion in the given essay.

On the one hand, some people believe that professionls should continue there field work in the same country where they did their training. Firstly, some people argue that professionls should work in their own country because they totaly know about the people,s mindset of the local people like doctors are able to easily understand the disease of patient by asking him in local language. Secondly, people think that the main benifit of working professionals in their native country that they whould work for the development of their country and for ensuring the reputation of their country by establishing new technology then they are also represent as a roll model for the new generation and develope motivation in students that they should work for their own country.

On the other hand, some people argue that professionls are free to working in any other country if they wish.

At first, some people believe that some people facing financial problems nowadays and if government cannot pay proper income to professionals then professionls want to work in some other country where they are able meet their expenses. For example, one of my neighbour is a top class engineer and he was working in top 5 rank company but he says he could not meet their expenses and after disapointment he moved to australia and now he earned a great income. Furthermore, some people argue that when professionals whould work in some other country where they learn something new and know about new tecnhnology it is also benificial for native country because when they come back and start wroking for their own country,s development.

To conclude, different people thinks different about professionals working, I believe that government should ensure proper income for the professionals so that they focus to work for their own country development.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views and state a position in the conclusion: you favour governments providing adequate pay so professionals remain and contribute to their home country. The reasons are relevant, including doctors’ ability to communicate in a local language, professionals’ contribution to national development, and the opportunity to gain skills abroad and bring them home. However, the discussion is uneven: the second view is introduced briefly, and the financial example is more developed than the broader argument about freedom to choose. Your own position also emerges most clearly only in the conclusion, while the introduction promises an opinion without giving it. Make your stance explicit earlier and explain more fully how the competing benefits should be balanced.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “To conclude” help readers follow the discussion. Within paragraphs, however, progression is sometimes mechanical, with repeated “some people argue/believe” and “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “Furthermore.” The second-view paragraph moves from financial hardship to the benefits of learning new technology, but the link between these points could be made more explicit. Some references are also unclear, such as “they” in the sentence about professionals returning home. Use a wider range of linking methods and make connections and pronoun references precise.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “professionals,” “local language,” “financial problems,” “technology,” and “development,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “some people argue” and “work.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice problems, such as “professionls,” “totaly,” “benifit,” “roll model,” and “disapointment.” Some combinations are unnatural, for example “training sessions” for professional education and “continue there field work.” These errors sometimes make the reader pause. Build a bank of accurate collocations for this topic and proofread spelling; for instance, use “complete their professional training” and “serve as role models.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses with “because,” “if,” and “when,” and the overall meaning can usually be followed. However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to cause difficulty in places. Examples include “they have there own choice,” “professionals are free to working,” and “when professionals whould work … where they learn something new,” which show problems with possessives, verb forms, and tense consistency. Agreement is also inaccurate in “different people thinks,” while sentence boundaries and punctuation need more control, especially in the long sentence beginning “Secondly.” Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea and a subordinate clause, then check verb forms, agreement, and punctuation.
