Student answer (Band 6.5)

Many people think that healthcare professionals and engineers should be obliged to work in their home country where they did training, while others argue that such professionals should have access to work in another country depending on their will. Although working in the same country may help improve healthcare system and build confidence, I largely believe doctors and engineers should not be restricted to their home countries and should be given a chance to explore more career opportunities internationally.

On the one hand, working in the same country may help doctors and engineers to work more independently and smoothly. This is because healthcare professionals first study and then complete their training in a specific environment provided by the government. During their training period they are exposed to different surroundings and people. Once they become professionals, they may help people more because they better understand the psychology of people. This may help them to work more confidently and professionally. As a result, it may improve overall healthcare system of the country. Furthermore, engineers can contribute to the country's economy by developing innovative technologies for the future of a nation. For example, engineers can apply all the techniques in their own country, which they have learned in their training sessions.

On the other hand, I largely believe that all the professionals should be free to continue their careers. Due to the saturation in the job market, it is quite difficult to secure a suitable posiition in their relative departments. Many struggle and face a lot of problems while looking for opportunities; therefore if any country offers them a designated role, they should have access to that position without any restrictions. Although governments should support such professions by giving scholarship and career opportunities abroad, which will motivate individuals to work hard and build respect for their governnment. For instance, many doctors nowadays are planning to move abroad to advance their academic excellence and do something for their country, however they are facing hurdles on their way due to certain conditions.

In conclusion, although working in the same country can build confidence and give a chance to work independently, I believe such professionals should not be restricted to certain boundaries and should be free to achieve their desired goals.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You discuss both positions and make your own view clear: you support professionals having the freedom to work abroad. The first body paragraph gives relevant reasons for requiring them to stay, including their familiarity with local people and their potential contribution to national development. However, this side is developed more fully than the case for mobility in places, and some claims remain general. The second paragraph mentions job-market saturation and overseas opportunities, but it does not explain in much detail why professionals should be free to leave after receiving publicly funded training, or how the home country might address the resulting loss of skilled workers. Develop and support both sides more evenly, and make the reasoning behind your opinion more explicit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs signposted by “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion that restates your position. Ideas generally progress logically, and linking expressions such as “As a result” and “For example” help show relationships. This meets the expected standard for coherent organisation and also shows some flexibility in connecting ideas. At times, however, the links are mechanical or the reference is unclear. In “Although governments should support such professions …, which will motivate individuals,” the connection between the clause and the following result is awkward, and “such professions” does not clearly refer to people. Use more precise referencing and make the relationship between each example and its supporting claim explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “healthcare professionals,” “job market,” “innovative technologies,” and “career opportunities.” These choices make the subject clear, and some less common expressions show an attempt to discuss the issue beyond basic terms. However, several word-choice and collocation problems reduce precision: “relative departments” is unclear, “academic excellence” does not naturally describe the aim of moving abroad, and “build respect for their government” is not the intended or usual phrasing. There are also spelling errors in “posiition” and “governnment.” Aim for accurate, natural combinations and proofread carefully; for example, use “relevant fields,” “advance their academic careers,” and “earn their government’s support or respect,” depending on your meaning.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including subordinate clauses with “Although,” “because,” and “which,” and most of your meaning remains clear. The opening sentence and the contrast between the two body paragraphs show that you can organise more than one idea within a sentence. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with articles, agreement, and clause construction. For example, “improve healthcare system” needs an article or plural form, while “governments should support such professions by giving scholarship and career opportunities abroad, which will motivate” has an unclear grammatical connection and agreement. “Although” also introduces a dependent clause in the second body paragraph without a complete main clause. Review article use and ensure each complex sentence has a clear, complete structure.
