Student answer (Band 5.5)

People have different opinion about whether professional, such as doctors and engineers. Some people believe that professionals should work in their country, where they did their training and obtain education while, some individuals believe that professionals should be free to work in another country where they wish. From my perspective, professionals should be free to work where they like they can work.

On the one hand, professionals should work in the country where they did their training and obtain education because, government have invested amount on their education and provide resources for their education. Furthermore, by leaving the country people may struggle because, shortage of professionals in hospitals disturb the system and also by leaving engineers projects may be delayed. For example, by leaving doctors and engineers from country it disturb the health and engineering sector because, people struggle and health facilities disturb country faces shortage of doctors while engineering sector also struggle because developments projects face delays and country progress also disturb.

On the other hand, professionals should have rights to work where they like because, by working in different environment they can obtain work experience and learn different things which help them in the future. For instance, by working in different countries and companies professionals get experience of different environment and can understand how different countries and companies work in daily life and this help them to overcome mistakes and also help to boost their CV.

In my opinion, experts should be free to work where they like because, it help them to understand different professional environment and also help to obtain experience which help them in future.

To sum up, professionals should be free to work where they like because, it help them to obtain experience of different environment and it boost their CV which improve their employment opportunities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You discuss both views and state your position: you support professionals being free to work abroad, explaining that international experience can broaden their skills and strengthen their CVs. You also give relevant reasons for requiring them to stay, including public investment in training and shortages in essential sectors. However, these points are mostly asserted rather than developed. The example about delayed projects and pressure on hospitals repeats the shortage argument without showing a specific consequence or example, while the benefits of working abroad are also general. Your opinion is clear, but it would be stronger if you weighed the public cost of training against professionals’ freedom and supported each side with more precise explanation. The response meets the task’s length requirement; 17 words copied from the prompt were excluded from the count.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, your opinion, and a conclusion. This makes the discussion easy to follow, and signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “To sum up” help identify the stages of your argument. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical because the same phrases and ideas recur, particularly “work where they like” and the claim that experience helps in the future. Some links are also unclear within sentences: the long example beginning “For example, by leaving doctors and engineers” contains several consequences joined together, making the progression difficult to track. Use fewer repeated signposts and organise each body paragraph around a distinct reason, followed by its explanation or example.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the main ideas, with relevant terms such as “professionals,” “resources,” “shortage,” “work experience,” and “employment opportunities.” However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, including “professionals,” “different environment,” and “work where they like.” Some choices and combinations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “obtain amount on their education,” “health facilities disturb,” and “boost their CV.” These expressions can make the reader pause to interpret your meaning. Aim to use more precise collocations and vary key terms where appropriate—for example, describe government spending as “invested public funds in training,” and say that shortages “put pressure on healthcare services.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses with “because,” “while,” and “which,” but complex structures are often faulty and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. For example, “People have different opinion about whether professional” has problems with plural forms and sentence construction, while “it help them” shows subject–verb disagreement. In “professionals should be free to work where they like they can work,” two clauses are joined without suitable punctuation or a linking structure. Articles and commas are also often missing or misplaced, as in “government have invested amount” and the repeated comma before “because.” Practise accurate sentence boundaries, subject–verb agreement, and plural forms before adding more clauses; then check each sentence for a clear subject and verb.
