Student answer (Band 4.5)

some people belives that professionals such as doctors and engineers should be required to work in the country where they did their training. In their views they think that if they do training in doctors or engineers in their own country, they could have some more benefits because in this way they would be closer to their family and their relatives and also they think that their own country provide them better opportunities than another country. These people also think that their owm country would provide them better jobs opportunities and they think that this would provide them to be a professional in life. While on the other hand ,some people think that they would be free to work as a doctor or engineer in another country if they wish because they think that training in abroad would help them to get knowledge about so many things that he shouldnot have in this country.and also he think that they could learn about different type of some new technologies that are not available in Pakistan and this also led them to meet their full needs bacause they think that better job opportunities are provided in abroad in this way they could improve their lives.

In my opinion ,I think that traing of doctors and engineer in outside country if they wish is necessory than training in Pakistan, because outside country doctor or engineer is well professional than Pakistani doctor or engineer .and i also think that outside doctor enjoys better facilities of life then pakistan .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You address both views and state your opinion, so the response is relevant to the question. You explain that working in one’s home country may offer family closeness and job opportunities, while overseas work may provide exposure to new technology and better prospects. However, these points are mostly asserted rather than explained or supported with a specific example, and the opinion that overseas training is preferable is brief and not clearly distinguished from the question of where professionals should work. The response also contains 231 words, below the required 250; the 20 words copied from the task prompt are not counted. Develop each side with clearer reasoning and add a relevant example to make the discussion more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable sequence: it presents the view favouring work in the home country, contrasts it with overseas work, and then gives your opinion. Linking expressions such as “while on the other hand” and “In my opinion” help signal these stages. However, nearly all the ideas are packed into one long paragraph, so the progression is difficult to follow. Repeated use of “they think” and “because” also makes the connections mechanical, and some references, such as “he” after discussing professionals generally, are unclear. Use separate paragraphs for each view and your opinion, and connect ideas with a wider range of precise transitions and clear pronouns.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “professionals,” “training,” “job opportunities,” and “technologies,” and the reader can generally understand the intended comparison. However, the range is basic and several phrases are repetitive or inaccurately formed, such as “training in abroad,” “better jobs opportunities,” and “meet their full needs.” Spelling errors, including “belives,” “omw,” and “necessory,” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise collocations and avoid repeating “better” and “they think.” For example, you could describe “career prospects,” “access to advanced technology,” or “meet their professional goals.” Proofreading spelling and word forms would make your meaning clearer and more natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences using “because,” “that,” and “while,” but these structures are often difficult to control, and the response relies heavily on long, joined clauses. Agreement and sentence construction errors appear in examples such as “their own country provide them” and “outside country doctor or engineer is well professional.” There are also inconsistent pronouns and missing or misplaced punctuation, which make some sentences hard to process. Try using a mix of shorter, complete sentences and carefully built complex ones. Check subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries, and ensure each sentence expresses one clear relationship between ideas.
