Student answer (Band 5.0)

People believe that professional doctors and engineers should be required to work in the country where they did their practice while some people believe that they should be free to do jobs in any part of the country.

Firstly, every country is producing excellent doctors and engineers. People in every country need someone so professional for themselves. The first view states that these professionals should work in their own country where they completed their training. However it is a good decision because after spending a great span of time in your own country you have to serve your own people.

The second view states that these professionals should be free to work in any other country. Moreover they should have the right to choose where they have to work after a long time of studying and training. This all must be so hectic for them. Working in their own country would benifit them and the people of their country too. Because being a national they can enjoy each and every facility in their own country as compared to another countries.

In my perspective, people who work in abroad do not enjoy much facilities as they are not the nationals. They have to adjust in that country other than their own country. People cannot enjoy free will in any country.

My point is that both these views have a good and bad impact on the prrofessionals but the conclusion is that everyone has the right to decide about their professional life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You introduce both positions and give a clear final view that professionals should decide where to work. However, the discussion is only partially developed: the first view is supported mainly by the general claim that people should “serve [their] own people,” while the second is described as a right to choose, without exploring why professionals might want to move or what benefits their skills could bring elsewhere. Your opinion also shifts: you support working at home in one paragraph, then conclude that individuals should choose freely. Clarify this position and explain both sides with specific reasons or an example. The response is 235 words, 15 words below the 250-word minimum; the 15 words copied from the prompt are not counted.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic paragraph structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “Firstly,” “The second view,” and “In my perspective” helps readers identify the stages of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and some links are mechanical or unclear. For example, “Working in their own country would benefit them” follows a paragraph about freedom to work abroad, so the relationship between the ideas is confusing. The conclusion repeats the two-sided framing rather than resolving the shift in your position. Develop each paragraph around one main point, connect reasons explicitly, and use pronouns and transitions so their references are clear.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the general subject, including “professionals,” “training,” “nationals,” and “professional life.” However, the range is limited and several phrases are repetitive or imprecise, such as repeated references to “their own country” and “work.” Some collocations are unnatural, including “do jobs in any part of the country” and “enjoy each and every facility.” Spelling errors such as “benifit” and “prrofessionals” also reduce accuracy. These choices do not prevent the reader from understanding the main ideas, but they make the argument less precise. Practise vocabulary for migration and employment, and check spelling and collocations when editing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You communicate your main ideas using mostly simple sentence patterns, with some attempts to connect clauses using “while,” “because,” and “as.” However, the range is limited, and attempts at longer sentences are often faulty or incomplete. For example, “Because being a national they can enjoy…” is a fragment, while “after spending a great span of time in your own country you have to serve your own people” shifts from third-person discussion to “you.” There are also errors in articles, agreement, and sentence construction, as in “as compared to another countries” and “People cannot enjoy free will in any country.” Use complete sentences, maintain a consistent subject and point of view, and check articles and plural forms.
