Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both sides of the discussion: the investment governments make in training and the benefits professionals may gain abroad, such as better pay, working conditions and experience. Your opinion—that professionals should be free to choose where they work—is stated, but it is not consistently clear or fully supported. The opening is difficult to interpret, and the final point that governments should encourage skilled people to stay at home sits uneasily beside your support for freedom of choice. Some ideas are relevant but remain general; for example, you mention sharing knowledge with the home country without explaining how this might happen. Develop each main reason with a clearer explanation or a specific example, and make your position consistent from introduction to conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some organisation: the response moves from reasons for professionals to serve their home country to reasons for working abroad, and you use signposts such as “on the other hand” and “for example.” However, progression is not always clear. “On the other hand” is repeated, including where the relationship between ideas is unclear, and several points run together in long, loosely connected sequences. The opening and conclusion do not clearly frame the discussion, while paragraph breaks are limited and do not consistently separate the main stages of the argument. Use a clear introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion that restates your position. Connect each example directly to the point it supports and use referencing to avoid repetition.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “training and education,” “essential service,” “shortage of worker,” “working condition” and “international experience.” This gives you a basic range for discussing the issue, but vocabulary is often repetitive or used in inaccurate combinations, which can make meaning less clear. For instance, “professional play a important rule” does not express the intended idea naturally, and “providing the services like to develop the road” is difficult to understand. Spelling and word-form errors, such as “countary” and “provident,” are also noticeable. Build a bank of accurate collocations for employment, public services and economic development, and check spelling and word forms when editing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to express reasons and contrasts, including with “although,” “when” and “if,” but the range of sentence structures is limited and complex attempts are often faulty. Errors in sentence formation, verb forms, agreement and articles occur frequently: “they moves other country,” “government spend,” and “a important rule” are examples. Some sentences lack a clear subject or complete structure, particularly in the opening and in “when the professional moves other country.” These problems sometimes make the intended relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Practise building complete sentences with a subject and verb, then check agreement, articles and plural forms. Shorter, accurate sentences will help you communicate your ideas more clearly before you add complex clauses.
