Student answer (Band 5.0)

There is considerable debate about whether professionals should work in the region where they did their course whether other people believe that they should do job where they want. This essay will discuss both views and explain why I believe individuals should be free to work in another country.

On the one hand, some people argue that professionals should be required to work in the country where they did their training. The main reason behind this is that they think that graduates should benefit their institutes who put efforts on them to make professional. If many professionals move abroad then it will be disadvantage for the country. For instance, medical field training and course is hard as compared to other fields and teachers and instructors put a lot of efforts on their students to become successful doctor. If these people move to another country then country will face serious challenges in healthcare sectors. Therefore, individuals believe that proffesionals should serve their own country.

On the other hand, other individual think that they should be free to work in another country if they wish because everyone has a different mindset in a life. For example, many individuals want to explore different cultures and traditions by working with varied people. Moreover, everyone's circumstances are different from each other and many people move abroad to support their families. As a result, I believe that younger people should be allowed to work where they want.

In conclusion, although doctors and engineers should serve their institues to benefit them, I believe individuals should do jobs according to their preferences and needs.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both views and state your opinion clearly: you support professionals being free to work abroad, citing cultural exploration and family support. The opposing view is also relevantly explained through the investment in training and possible shortages in healthcare. However, these points remain general and are not developed with a specific example or fuller explanation; the claim that graduates should benefit their “institutes” is also not clearly connected to the country as a whole. The conclusion repeats your position but adds little. The response contains 233 words, so it is 17 words below the required minimum; the 33 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop each side with more precise reasoning and an illustrative example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the discussion, and the reader can follow the overall contrast. However, progression within paragraphs is basic, and linking phrases such as “Therefore” and “As a result” sometimes announce conclusions without showing the reasoning that leads to them. The reference in “benefit their institutes who put efforts on them” is also unclear, interrupting the connection between ideas. To improve, organise each body paragraph around one main claim, explain its consequence, and use clearer references and transitions rather than relying mainly on formulaic signposts.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “professionals,” “training,” “healthcare sectors,” “cultures and traditions,” and “circumstances.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, which can make meaning less precise. For example, “do job,” “benefit their institutes,” and “make professional” do not express the intended ideas naturally; “proffesionals” and “institues” are also misspelled. Repeated use of “individuals,” “country,” and “people” further limits variety. Build a more accurate set of phrases for employment, public investment in education, and skilled-worker migration, and check spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “If many professionals move abroad then it will be disadvantage for the country” and a subordinate clause beginning “although” in the conclusion. However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences awkward or difficult to process. Examples include “whether professionals should work … whether other people believe,” “everyone has a different mindset in a life,” and “many people move abroad to support their families,” where the surrounding sentence construction is not consistently controlled. Articles, agreement, and sentence patterns also need attention. Practise building accurate clauses first, then combine them; proofread specifically for articles, singular/plural agreement, and complete, logically connected sentences.
