Some people believe that professionals, such as doctors and engineers, should be required to work in the country where they did their training. Others believe they should be free to work in another country if they wish.
Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this day and age, it is been argued that professional people like doctors and engineers should work in the country from where they received their education and training while some people oppose this idea and thinks that they should be independant in choosing the country where they want to practice their skills.
On the one hand, if professional people are required to do their employment in the same country fro where they learned that will not only increase the literacy rate of the country but the country will also have more working class available. The country who helped in their training has the right to retain this pool of talented people. They will work more diligently there and will also contribute to the country's progress and development. As they are already familiar with the country's work culture and social norms they will easily fit in society.
Contrarily, few people beleive that there should be no such restriction. They should do their work in which country they want. There are many benefits that support this idea like if the country in which they got training may not have high paying jobs for their roles. Moreover, working in another country helps them to sharpen their knowldge and skills by working with individuals from different parts of the world. They may also have more chances of recognition there.
From my point of view, I think such professionals should do some internships in the country where they did training while they should be free to go in whichever country they want to work.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the discussion and give a clear personal view: professionals should complete internships in the country where they trained but remain free to work elsewhere. The supporting points are relevant, including retaining trained workers, familiarity with local norms, and the possibility of better pay or broader experience abroad. However, the two sides are not developed equally: the benefits of staying are explained in several ways, while the case for mobility is mostly listed rather than illustrated or explored. Your conclusion gives a practical compromise, but explaining why internships would fairly balance the country’s investment with professionals’ freedom would make the position more fully supported.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a concluding opinion. The progression is easy to follow, and signposts such as “On the one hand,” “Contrarily,” and “From my point of view” help readers identify the shifts in argument. This coherent structure is a strength. To make the links more flexible and precise, avoid relying mainly on formulaic transitions and connect each supporting point more explicitly to the claim it supports. For example, the sentence about familiarity with work culture could be linked directly to why this benefits the country. The final paragraph is brief, so a clearer transition from the two views to your proposed compromise would strengthen the overall progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “retain this pool of talented people,” “work culture,” “social norms,” and “recognition.” These phrases help communicate relevant ideas, and the meaning is generally clear. There are, however, some spelling and word-choice inaccuracies, such as “independant,” “beleive,” and “knowldge.” A few expressions are also imprecise or unnatural: “increase the literacy rate” does not clearly describe the benefit of employing trained professionals, and “do their employment” is not idiomatic. Aim for more precise collocations and check spelling carefully. This would make your argument sound more natural while preserving the useful topic vocabulary you already demonstrate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional structure (“if professional people are required…”) and a sentence using “not only…but also.” These attempts show some range, and the main ideas remain understandable. Some grammatical errors persist, however. The opening has “it is been argued,” where the passive form is incorrect, and “some people…thinks” has a subject–verb agreement error. In “the country from where they received their education,” the relative construction is awkward, while “if…that will not only increase” needs clearer clause structure and punctuation. Review verb forms, agreement, and sentence boundaries, then proofread longer sentences to ensure that the clauses connect accurately.
