Student answer (Band 4.5)

it is argued that professionals such as doctors and engineers should be required to work in the country they sis thier traning and others believe that is better to go another country to work if they wish for acheiving thier dreams .

in my point view ' i dont agree for those doctors and engineers to stay in thier own country and keep working where they practiced everything for example here in algeria the salary killes them and is sow low comparing with other devlopment countries like uk and canada and usa ' there is huge different and also the hospitals for doctors are not builded well and many failure to provide thier specific items even its necessary to go abroad and buy items and bring them back to the country for using them .

nevertheless ' i can say there are many good enginners and smart one and even doctors ' sergeons with heigh profession that can make great stir with thier studies and knowledge and thier names can be famous internationally but not devlepment countries will make them in low layer and they dont feel themselve working good and share energy and the power of this job

in conclusion i can agree little and still believe in some areas and cities in my country we can find good enginners and doctors famous and work with thier efforce and never give up comparing with thier salaries very low but they like to be proffesional with this job even in thier minds always want themselv to be in heigher level and increasing layer

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You give a personal view that professionals should be free to leave, and the examples about low salaries and poorly equipped hospitals in Algeria are relevant reasons. However, the task asks you to discuss both views, and the argument for requiring professionals to serve the country that trained them is not clearly explained. The paragraph beginning “nevertheless” mentions skilled workers and their potential, but its point is difficult to follow and does not clearly establish why they should stay. Your conclusion is also unclear, as “I can agree little” does not specify which view you support. The response is 248 words, so it is two words below the 250-word minimum; 15 words copied from the prompt were not counted.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a basic overall structure: an opening, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Connectors such as “nevertheless” and “in conclusion” signal transitions, and the Algeria example gives the second paragraph a central focus. However, progression within paragraphs is often difficult to follow. For instance, the paragraph beginning “nevertheless” moves from professionals’ skills to international fame and then to their treatment in less-developed countries without making the links explicit. The conclusion introduces a mixed position rather than clearly resolving the discussion. Use one paragraph for each view, order supporting points clearly, and make references such as “them” and “this job” unambiguous.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “salary,” “hospitals,” “surgeons,” “professionals” and “internationally,” and the examples show an effort to express specific ideas. However, vocabulary is often basic or repeated, and frequent spelling and word-choice errors make parts of the argument hard to understand. Examples include “devlepment countries,” “heigh profession,” “low layer” and “increasing layer”; these do not communicate the intended meaning clearly. Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “the salary killes them” and “share energy and the power of this job.” Choose precise expressions such as “low salaries,” “highly skilled surgeons” and “career prospects,” and check spelling and collocations before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt some longer sentences, including the sentence explaining that hospitals lack necessary equipment, and you use basic sentence patterns to communicate your main concerns. However, sentence structures are limited and errors occur frequently, sometimes obscuring relationships between ideas. For example, “I dont agree for those doctors and engineers to stay” has an incorrect verb pattern, while “the hospitals for doctors are not builded well” has problems with passive construction and tense form. There are also missing or misplaced articles and punctuation, including the opening sentence’s run-on structure and the repeated apostrophe-like marks. Practise building clear subject–verb sentences, then combine them with accurate clauses using “because,” “although” and “which.”
