Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some people argue that professional, such as doctors and engineers, should work in their country where they recieved their education and training, However, other beleive that they should have the freedom to work in any country they choose. In my opinion, professional should be free to work aborad, although they should also consider their responsibilities towards their country.
On the one hand, there are several reasons why professionals should work in the country where they trained. The government spend a large amount of money on education and training, especially in fields such as medical and egineering. Therefore, it is responsible to contribute to the development of their own country. For example, if doctors remain in the country, they can help to improve medical services and provide proper treatment to local peoples in emergency. This is particularly important in developing countries.
On the the other hand, Professional should have rights to choose where they wabt to work. Some countries offer better salaries, modern facelities and give more opprtunites for future growth. Working aboard also allow professionals to gain international experience and learn new skills. For instance, an engineer who allow works in a developed country may learn advanced technologies that could be useful in future scope In addition, people should be free to choose their workplace that provides better living conditions for themselves and their families.
In conclusion, professionals should contribute o the countries that have supported their education , I believe they should not ofrced people to work there. They should have the freedom to work aboard and able to gain more opportunities, while their home countries can encourage them to return by offering suitable salaries and working conditions.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both sides of the discussion and state a clear position: professionals should be free to work abroad, while recognising responsibilities to their home country. The reasons are relevant, including public investment in training, local healthcare needs, better salaries and facilities, and international experience. The examples help illustrate these points, particularly the doctor serving local patients. However, some ideas are asserted rather than fully explained. For instance, the engineer’s experience abroad is said to be useful in the future, but you do not explain how this might benefit the professional’s home country or connect it to your final suggestion that countries encourage return. Developing that link and extending one or two examples would make the argument more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion that restates your position. Linking phrases such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow. Some cohesion is less controlled, however. The repeated “On the…” framing is somewhat mechanical, and the sentence about the engineer’s future usefulness runs into the next point without clear punctuation or a complete transition. The conclusion also moves quickly from the responsibility to contribute to the home country to the freedom to work abroad. Use a wider range of links and make the relationship between these ideas explicit to strengthen the flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to discuss the issue, including “education and training,” “medical services,” “international experience,” and “working conditions.” There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “modern facilities” and “advanced technologies.” However, spelling errors and inaccurate word forms or collocations are noticeable, including “recieved,” “egineering,” “opprtunites,” and “work aboard” where “work abroad” is intended. Phrases such as “local peoples” and “future scope” are also unnatural or unclear in context. These slips sometimes make the reader pause, even though the main meaning is generally recoverable. Check spelling carefully and learn common word partnerships for this topic.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including cause-and-effect structures with “Therefore” and a conditional example beginning “if doctors remain in the country.” Most ideas can be understood, but some grammatical errors affect clarity. For example, “The government spend” needs subject–verb agreement, while “Working aboard also allow professionals” needs an appropriate verb form and agreement. The opening sentence also joins two independent clauses with a comma, and the engineer example becomes difficult to follow because its sentence structure and punctuation are incomplete. Review agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries, then proofread longer sentences to ensure each clause is complete and correctly connected.
