Student answer (Band 5.5)

nowdays, some people believe that professionals like doctors and engineers should work in the country where they received their traing. However other thunk they should be free to work in any country they want. both views have ther own advantages and i will discuss them in thus essay

on the one hand, people believe thar professionals should work in the country where they studied because the goverment and society often spend a lot of money on thier education. For example medical students receive training in goverment colleges at low fees. After completing their studie, doctors can help local people and improve the country healthcare system. similarly engineers can use their skills to develop roads, building and technology. Working in thier own country can help and support national development.

on other hand, many people belive that professionals should have the freedom to work in any country. The main reason is that everyone wants better carrier ,a good salary and better quality of life. Some countries offer better working conditions , modren technology and more opportunities to learn new skills.

im conclusion, while proffionals working in thier own country can benefits, I belive they should have freedo, to work wherever they fin better opportunity

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views and state a clear preference in the conclusion: professionals should be free to work where they find better opportunities. The points about public investment in education, local healthcare and national development are relevant, as are the attractions of higher salaries and improved working conditions abroad. However, these ideas are only briefly explained, and the second view receives less development than the first. The response also falls short of the required 250 words, so there is limited space to explain your reasoning or give a specific example. To strengthen the response, develop each view with a concrete example and explain why your preferred position is fair or beneficial.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. The signposts “on the one hand,” “on other hand,” and “in conclusion” help readers follow the discussion. However, progression within the paragraphs is quite basic, and some links between ideas are abrupt; for example, the paragraph about working abroad lists salary, quality of life, technology and learning opportunities without explaining how these points connect. Some transitions are also used mechanically, and the conclusion repeats the position rather than drawing the discussion together. Use clearer links between claims and explanations, and develop each paragraph around a central point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “training,” “healthcare system,” “national development,” and “working conditions.” However, the range is limited, and several spelling errors make the writing less clear or polished, such as “traing,” “thunk,” “goverment,” and “proffionals.” Some word choices and collocations are also inaccurate: “better carrier” should refer to career prospects, while “building” needs a plural form in the list of engineering contributions. Aim to use a wider range of precise expressions and check spelling carefully. For instance, you could describe professionals as “qualified workers” and refer to “career advancement” or “employment prospects” when discussing work abroad.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You communicate the main message using mostly simple sentence patterns, with some attempts to combine ideas, such as “because the government and society often spend a lot of money on their education.” However, the range of structures is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to affect fluency. Examples include missing or inconsistent articles in “at low fees” and “the country healthcare system,” and the incomplete construction “Working in their own country can help and support national development,” where the object of “help” is unclear. Punctuation and sentence boundaries also need attention, particularly after introductory phrases. Practise accurate complex sentences using clauses such as “Although professionals may owe something to the country that trained them, they should retain the right to choose where they work.”
