Student answer (Band 5.5)

A number of individuals think that doctors and engineers need to work and training in their own country while others argued that if they want they can work anywhere. I will discuss both view and give my opinion in the conclusion.

On the one hand, Many individuals believe that doctors and engineers should need to work their own country because people of this country need good doctor for their proper treatment. If a doctor stay in their own country, most of the patient, who is from others country come to this country for take treatment for the doctors. As a result the economy of a country will improve rapidly and also country's reputation will also improve. For example, If a patient come to this country for treatment they need medicine, so they buy medicine from this country. As a result, country's economy will increase. Engineers can get chance to make innovative ideas and also execute this.

On the other hand, If the doctors and engineers work will be free they go to the another country. So that they get enough money and well organized equipment and well known hospital for treatment. Also they get advanced technological equipment. Engineers have modernized equipment for making building and others things. They get good training from well known engineers from different countries. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views and give a final preference: professionals should be able to choose where they work, despite the benefits of serving their home country. The discussion is relevant, but the position is only stated clearly at the end, and the opening promises an opinion “in the conclusion” rather than establishing it from the outset. The home-country argument focuses mainly on medical tourism and economic reputation, which does not fully explain why trained professionals should be required to stay. The case for working abroad mentions better equipment, pay and experience, but these points are not developed with clear explanation or a specific example. State your position in the introduction and support each side with more directly relevant reasoning.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the discussion. However, progression within the body paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow. For example, the point about patients travelling for treatment shifts to medicine purchases and the national economy, while the link to requiring doctors to remain is not made explicit. Some references, such as “this country” and “they,” are unclear without a named country or clear antecedent. Build each paragraph around one main claim, then explain its connection to the question before adding an example; use linking phrases to show cause and contrast more precisely.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “innovative ideas,” “advanced technological equipment,” “gain experience,” and “country’s reputation,” so the reader can understand the main subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive. “Good doctor,” “well organized equipment,” and “a doctor stay” do not express the intended ideas naturally, while “country” and “equipment” recur frequently. Some phrases, such as “execute this,” are vague in context. Aim for precise combinations such as “provide high-quality medical care,” “well-equipped hospitals,” and “apply their skills.” Vary repeated terms with suitable alternatives, but prioritise accurate, natural phrasing over more elaborate vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including conditional and cause-and-effect forms such as “If a patient come to this country…” and “As a result…”. These attempts show some range, but errors are frequent and sometimes make relationships between ideas harder to follow. Examples include “doctors and engineers need to work and training,” “Many individuals believe,” “a doctor stay,” and “a engineer work,” which show problems with verb forms, agreement, articles and capitalisation. The sentence “Although professionals … need to work …, It required to give them a chance” also has an incomplete or faulty structure. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and article use, and check that each subordinate clause is joined to a complete main clause. Shorter, controlled sentences will help before adding complexity.
