Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You present both views: the first two body paragraphs explain why a country might expect trained professionals to serve locally, while the final paragraph argues for individual freedom. However, the discussion is only partially developed. The case for requiring local service is clearer, with public funding and citizens’ expectations offered as reasons, but the opposing view relies mainly on broad claims about independence and does not explain its practical importance or give a relevant example. Your own position is also not clearly stated: the conclusion supports freedom indirectly, but you do not explicitly say which view you favour or weigh the arguments. Develop both sides with specific reasoning and state your opinion directly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a basic paragraph structure, and the shift to the opposing view is signalled by “On the other hand.” The sequence from public investment to an expectation of service is also understandable. However, progression within paragraphs is often unclear: the second paragraph moves from the value of professions to sacrifice and national impact without showing how each point supports the argument. Some links are mechanical or imprecise, such as “For that reason” repeated to introduce conclusions, and the final paragraph ends without a clear concluding summary. Use topic sentences that identify each paragraph’s main claim, connect supporting explanations explicitly, and finish by restating your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “professionals,” “responsibilities,” “investment,” “taxes,” and “independence,” so the reader can identify the subject and main arguments. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making ideas difficult to interpret. For example, “engineering is a noble profession and thousands of sector” is unclear, and “the human rule” does not convey a precise meaning. There are also spelling and word-form errors such as “hole” for “whole” and “became” where “become” is needed. Build a more precise set of expressions for public funding, professional obligations, and freedom of movement, and check spelling and collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including the contrast introduced by “On the other hand” and the sentence beginning “The government spend vast amount of money…”. However, grammatical control is inconsistent, and errors in basic structures frequently affect clarity. Examples include missing auxiliaries in “should required,” subject–verb agreement in “The government spend,” and article or plural problems in “such as doctor and engineers.” Some longer sentences are difficult to follow because clauses are joined without clear grammatical relationships, particularly the sentence about investment, time, and budget. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, plurals, and complete clause structures before adding complexity; use punctuation to separate distinct ideas.
