Student answer (Band 6.0)

Many people think that professionals likes doctors and engineers should be necessary to do work in the country where they gain practical skill and others argued that they should be independent by their choice to work in any part of the world. I believe that people who are working in the same country contribute to the economic growth, while working freely leads to individual to improve knowledge, experience and salary.

On the one hand, it is essential for the professionals to work in the same country help in boosting the economic growth. For example, USA is a country where many foreign students migrate to study, and after finishing their graduation they are able to work in the country, As a result they pay taxes to the government which leads to indirect contribution to the country's economy.

On the other hand, freedom of work is necessary to wok anywhere in the world and it will allow individual to gain knowledge and experience as well as high pay scale due to positive working environment and culture of the country. For instance, Indian people prefer to work abroad to gain descent amount of salary and can focus on hands-on learning experiences. Moreover companies allow workers to choose mode of work such as remotely or hybrid that reduces the employees stress.

In conclusion, professional workers such as doctors and engineers should be required to work in the respective country where they completed their training due to their valuable contribution in economy, however it is also important to have freedom of work because it allows to enhance experiences and knowledge resulting in numerous opportunities such as pay scale and motivational working environment.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and give a clear overall position: you recognise the economic contribution of professionals who stay and the benefits of working abroad. The examples about foreign graduates in the USA and Indian workers abroad are relevant, and the conclusion returns to both sides. However, the discussion is unevenly developed. The economic point is mainly explained through tax payments, while the case for requiring professionals to remain after training—and possible reasons for that requirement—is not explored in much depth. The benefits of working abroad are broader, but claims about salary, learning and workplace culture would be stronger with clearer explanation or a specific example. Develop each side more fully and make your own position more decisive.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. The signposts “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow, and the examples are placed with the relevant arguments. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some of the flexibility associated with stronger cohesion. However, links between ideas within paragraphs are sometimes mechanical, and the relationship between the opening position and the final conclusion could be clearer: the introduction supports both outcomes, whereas the conclusion says professionals “should be required” to stay while also endorsing freedom. Use more precise referencing and connect each example explicitly to the claim it supports.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “economic growth,” “contribution,” “hands-on learning experiences,” and “working environment.” These choices communicate the main ideas, and you attempt some less common expressions. However, several inaccurate word choices and collocations make the writing less natural, such as “professionals likes,” “necessary to do work,” “descent amount of salary,” and “high pay scale.” There is also an incorrect spelling in “wok anywhere,” and “mode of work” is not the most natural phrase in this context. These errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your argument, but they limit precision. Focus on accurate collocations and word forms, and check spelling before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “while,” “which,” and “because.” The overall meaning is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “Many people think that professionals likes” has subject–verb disagreement, and “it is essential for the professionals to work … help” does not form a complete, correctly linked structure. In “it will allow individual to gain,” the article is missing, while the long final sentence joins contrasting ideas with a comma rather than clear punctuation. These examples show that complex structures are attempted but not always controlled. Practise building complete clauses and checking agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries.
