Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You present a relevant opinion—“the latter statement is more logical”—and include reasons for both views: better salaries and cultural experience for working abroad, and returning value to a country that funded training. However, the discussion is only partial and the position is not sustained in the conclusion, which repeats benefits of working abroad without clearly weighing the opposing view. The ideas are also under-developed: for example, explain why public investment in training creates an obligation to serve locally, and support your points with a specific example. The response is 34 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop both sides and your opinion. Address every part more fully and make your final position explicit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “on the one hand,” “on the other hand,” and “to conclude” help readers identify the stages of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and several ideas are joined in long, unclear sequences, particularly the sentence about salaries, housing, culture, and independence. Some linking phrases are mechanical or do not clearly show the relationship between ideas. The conclusion also does not bring both sides together. To improve, give each paragraph a clear central point, develop it in a logical order, and use linking words only where they accurately express the connection.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “professionals,” “salaries,” “independent,” “training,” and “new invention.” This gives you some means of expressing the main ideas. However, the range is limited, and frequent spelling errors and inaccurate word choices sometimes make the message difficult to follow, as in “oppent,” “ferlicity,” “chancu,” and “relational.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “working in abroad” and “repay back to their country.” Build a more accurate set of topic-specific expressions and check spelling carefully. For instance, use “employment benefits” for workplace advantages and “contribute to their home country” when describing professionals giving back.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences, for example with “because” and “while,” and the reader can generally identify your main position and reasons. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and attempts at complex sentences are often faulty. Errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries occur frequently: “Education play,” “professionals should required,” and “they free to chose” all need grammatical correction. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, including the lowercase sentence openings and run-on sequences. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them using subordinate clauses. For example: “Professionals should be required to work in the country where they received their training.”
