Student answer (Band 5.5)
People have different opinions about where should professionals work after completing their educations. While, some people argue that doctor and engineers should serve in the country where they did their training, others believe that they are not bound to work in their own country. This essay will discuss both views, before explaining why i believe that as a working professional we should consider our own country first before moving to another country.
On the one hand, some people believe that the professional such as doctor and engineer should always prefer to work in their home country. This is because it's our responsibility to serve our country before going anywhere and that is how we can able to make this country a better place to live. Nowadays, all the students and professional prefer to move abroad for their bright future and this is the reason most countries lacking quality educations and hospitals facilities. For example, the main reason of countries growth is that their own people is not preferring other countries for their growth instead they are working their home country.
On the other hand, some people argue that everyone should be free about choosing their career. This is because we cannot bound anyone to work in certain place, because this will decrease their motivation and productivity. For instance, many people dreamt to move in better place for their growth. It's our country's responsibility to develop a better a infrastructure because no one likes to move in another country leaving their loved one behind, and somehow if we manage to bound them work in their home country then it will decrease their overall productivity.
In conclusion, everyone have their own opinion and both views have a valid reason for acceptance In my view, we should always put our country first because this is the place that give us everything that we have and this how we can improve our country.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both sides of the discussion and state a position: the introduction says professionals should consider their own country first, and the conclusion repeats this view. The reasons are relevant, including national responsibility and the effect of migration on services, as well as the argument that restricting choice could reduce motivation. However, the ideas are only partly developed. The claim that professionals leaving causes countries to lack quality education and hospital facilities needs clearer explanation, and the example about countries growing through people staying is broad rather than specific. The opposing view is also explained mainly through motivation and personal dreams. To strengthen the response, develop each reason with a clearer cause-and-effect explanation or a concrete example, and make the distinction between encouraging service and requiring it more explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion that gives your opinion. Signposting such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the discussion. However, some connections are mechanical, and the progression within paragraphs is not always clear. In the first body paragraph, the move from responsibility to “countries lacking quality educations and hospitals facilities” and then to national growth is not fully explained. The second paragraph also shifts from freedom of career choice to infrastructure and loved ones without clearly linking these points. Use clearer referencing and connect each supporting point directly to the paragraph’s main reason.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “professionals,” “responsibility,” “motivation,” “productivity,” and “infrastructure.” There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “serve in their home country.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning less natural: “bright future,” “countries growth,” and “bound to work” are examples. Some expressions are repeated, particularly “country” and “work,” and “better a infrastructure” is not an effective phrase. Aim for more precise academic collocations and vary repeated terms, while checking word forms and countability. This would make your arguments clearer and more fluent without changing their meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “while,” “because,” and “if,” so there is some structural variety. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. Examples include “where should professionals work,” “we can able to make,” “most countries lacking,” and “everyone have their own opinion.” There are also problems with articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries, as in “the professional such as doctor and engineer” and the run-on conclusion beginning “In conclusion.” Capitalise “I,” and check subject–verb agreement, verb forms, and punctuation when editing. Practising accurate versions of your longer sentences will help you express the same ideas with greater control.
