Student answer (Band 6.0)

There is an ongoing debate about whether skilled workers, such as doctors and engineers should work in the country where they completed their training or should have the freedom to work abroad. Some people argue that they should invest their knowledge in the country where they did their study, while others beleive they should have access to work in another country. This essay will discuss both views in detail and provide evidence why they should have freedom to work abroad.

Professionals who work in the country they completed their training contribute significantly to the economy of the country. This is because most of the time, countries offer programs which can help to boosting the country's economy as well as to solve their big problems. This means they expect professionals to contribute massively according to the needs of the country and it is also a moral obligation for the professionals. For instance, a country with electricity problems expect a lot from its electrical enginners to solve the crisis, means loosing them will have a negative impact on the country's economy.

However professionals should have the freedom to work abroad. This is because it helps them to have carrer growth and finanancil stability. Some professionals might not have enough opportunities to work in the country they did their training. For this reason they should have access to work abroad. For instance, a civil engineer in a country with limited infrastructure developments cannot have the opportunity to apply his knowledge, so to work in other country will be the option. So that working abroad enable professionals to have a carrer growth and give them financial stability.

In conclusion, although working in the country they did their training is important for the economy of the country, in my opinion working abroad gives them flexibilty which can help them to grow professionally and financially.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You discuss both positions and make your own view clear: the introduction promises support for working abroad, and the conclusion says this offers professional and financial growth. The points about professionals contributing to the economy and having limited opportunities at home are relevant, with examples involving electrical and civil engineers. However, the first view is developed more through a general claim about moral obligation than through a specific explanation of why training creates a responsibility to remain. The benefits of working abroad are also asserted rather than explored in depth. To strengthen the response, explain the trade-off more fully—for example, how a country might address shortages while respecting professionals’ freedom—and develop each example to show its consequences.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion that restates your position. Transitions such as “However,” “For instance,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the argument, and the progression from national contribution to individual opportunity is logical. This meets the lower-band expectations and shows some stronger control through paragraphing and a consistent line of argument. At times, though, linking is mechanical or the relationship between sentences is not fully clear. For example, “So that working abroad enable professionals…” is an awkward continuation, while “means loosing them” does not clearly connect the example to its consequence. Use complete linking sentences and vary how you refer back to ideas, rather than relying repeatedly on “This is because” and “For instance.”

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “skilled workers,” “contribute,” “economy,” “opportunities,” and “financial stability,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “infrastructure developments” and “moral obligation.” However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision: “beleive,” “enginners,” “carrer,” “finanancil,” and “flexibilty.” Some combinations are unnatural, including “help to boosting” and “solve their big problems”; “apply his knowledge” is also less precise than describing how an engineer could use their skills. Build a wider set of accurate collocations for employment and public services, and proofread spelling and word forms. More precise phrasing would make the argument sound more fluent and appropriately academic.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex forms, including a relative clause in “a country with limited infrastructure developments” and a conditional-style explanation beginning “This is because.” Most sentences communicate the intended meaning, and the essay’s basic sentence structure is clear. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with agreement and sentence construction: “a country … expect” needs a singular verb, and “means loosing them will have” is not a complete, well-formed connection to the preceding clause. In “working abroad enable professionals,” the subject requires a singular verb. There are also issues with articles and phrasing, such as “in other country.” Practise checking subject–verb agreement and turning fragments or compressed explanations into complete sentences. Greater accuracy in these areas would make your varied sentence forms easier to follow.
