Student answer (Band 6.0)

Doctors and engineers play a vital role in health care. Some people believe that professionals, such as doctors and engineers should work in the country where they completed their studies and training. While others argue they should be free in making choise where they want to work. In this essay we will discuss both views but from my perspective professionals should have freedom to chose their workplace according to their preferences.

On the one hand, people think doctors and engineers should work in the country from where they completed their training. There are several reasons of this thought. Firstly, government invest their plenty of money in education sector. Thus, if the professionals will travel abroad this will be a great loss for the economy of country. Secondly, developed countries always has the shortage of doctors and engineers so this will impact on the heath of human beings.

On the other hand, masses think professionals have the right to select the place where they want to work according to their needs. Furthermore, if they are getting better income from foreign country they can travel there, this will help them to work with different cultures and can enhance their knowledge and experience. Moreover, this will help their families also in fulfiling their basic needs easily.

From my point of view, doctors and engineers should select the workplace by their own perspectives without any pressure. After a whole strugling of becoming a professional they have the right of working with their own choice.

In conclusion, government should offer different kind of facilities to professionals to incourage them to stay in their hometown. Besides this, they should have freedom in selecting their futher career opportunities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both sides of the discussion and state a clear opinion: professionals should be free to choose where they work. The reasons for requiring them to stay—public investment in training and shortages of skilled workers—are relevant, as are the benefits of overseas work for income and experience. However, some points are asserted rather than explained. For example, the claim that shortages in developed countries affect “the heath of human beings” is unclear, and the benefits to families could be linked more directly to the professionals’ freedom of choice. Your conclusion adds a practical suggestion about offering incentives, but this idea is not developed in the main discussion. Explain the consequences of each reason more fully and support them with a specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, your opinion, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” makes the progression easy to follow. This meets the lower-band expectations securely, and the paragraphing and overall sequence show some features of stronger organisation. However, links between ideas can feel mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “Moreover.” Some connections are also unclear: “this will impact on the heath of human beings” does not clearly explain how professionals leaving affects health. Use a wider range of linking methods and make pronoun references and cause-and-effect relationships more explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “government,” “economy,” “shortage,” “income,” and “experience.” There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “vital role” and “according to their preferences.” However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors are noticeable. Phrases such as “reasons of this thought,” “free in making choise,” and “after a whole strugling” are unnatural or inaccurate, while “heath,” “incourage,” and “futher” are misspelled. These errors do not prevent understanding overall, but they reduce precision and fluency. Build a bank of accurate collocations for education, migration, and employment, and proofread spelling and word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including conditional language (“if they are getting better income…”) and a contrast between the two positions. The main message remains understandable, but errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction occur across the response. For example, “government invest” needs subject–verb agreement, and “developed countries always has” has a plural subject with a singular verb. The opening also joins two contrasting clauses with a full stop before “While,” leaving the second clause incomplete. Work on building accurate complex sentences and checking agreement and clause boundaries. Greater control of these patterns would make your argument clearer and more polished.
