Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is often argued that some people think that professionals should be work in the country where they received their training; on the other hand, another group of people thinks the professionals should be free to work where they like. I believe that professionals should work and help the people in the country where they trained.

The major reason is that most of the money comes from the country's people's taxes for training a doctor or other professionals. This is because the public university or medical school is run by government money, and the money comes from the taxes paid by local people. For example, if all doctors and engineers go abroad, the country's people will not find any health benefits, and infrastructure design will not be updated.

On the other hand, a significant reason is that people are free to work in any country. This is because no one can stop them from going to different countries. Some time doctor need to study different disease or engineer need to understand new technology that why they should go to abroad and will come to his/her countries and help sick peope. For instance, some doctors come from underdeveloped countries for training; they can go back to their motherland to serve their people. In my opinion i would like to say that i am in the side of formar one, training given country should be there first priority if it is your mother land.

In conclusion, the professionals are free to work on different field of training in the country they traind from and the other viiew of work freely where they want to work. I believe that some freedom needs to be given to them, but also they should serve their motherland.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views and state a clear preference for professionals to serve the country where they trained. The point about public funding is relevant, and the example of doctors and engineers leaving helps explain the possible impact on local services. You also recognise that working abroad can provide valuable training, illustrated by doctors returning to their home countries. However, this second view is not fully explored: the claim that professionals are free to leave is asserted rather than discussed in terms of why that freedom matters. Your position also becomes less precise when you say they should have freedom but should serve their motherland. Develop the competing arguments more evenly and explain how you reconcile these views.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” help signal the direction of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and several ideas are joined in ways that make their relationship difficult to follow. For example, the sentence beginning “Some time doctor need to study” moves from professional development to returning home without clearly explaining the connection. The conclusion also repeats both sides rather than bringing the argument together. Use clearer topic sentences, organise each paragraph around one main point, and make references such as “the former one” explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “taxes,” “public university,” “infrastructure,” “training,” and “underdeveloped countries,” which helps communicate the main ideas. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, sometimes making the meaning less clear. Examples include “work on different field of training,” “go to abroad,” and “in the side of former one.” There are also spelling errors such as “peope,” “viiew,” and “traind,” which reduce accuracy. Aim to use more precise phrases for professional migration and public investment, and check spelling carefully. Replacing repeated general wording with accurate topic-specific expressions would make the discussion clearer and more natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including explanations with “because” and conditional reasoning such as “if all doctors and engineers go abroad.” This shows an effort to connect ideas rather than relying only on short statements. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in verb forms, sentence structure, articles, and agreement occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to read. For example, “professionals should be work” has an incorrect verb pattern, while “Some time doctor need” lacks appropriate plural and verb agreement. The sentence beginning “that why they should go” also needs clearer clause structure. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and verb patterns, and proofread each sentence for complete, correctly connected clauses.
