Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some people argue that working people such as doctors and engineers, should be require to work in the country where they did their training while others argue that they should be free to work in any other country where they wish. From my perspective, everyone should have freedom to work anywhere, where they prefer.
If we work in a country where we got education and training, can be beneficial in many cases. They knows their knowledge and competence level. They are also aware of the routine and working environment as they are living there for a certain time. They know the mindsets of people, so that would be more easy to work in such environment. For example, if a civil engineer got degree from certain country, working in the same environment will be beneficial as he knows which type of buildings and materials are preferred there.
However, in my opinion, every person has right about choosing the place for work. If we move to another environment which is new for us, we have more things to explore and increase the competence and skill level. By working in a different country we can challenge ourselves for any hurdle and difficulty. The new environment can be very challenging for sometime, but this will give us more confidence to improve our skills in certain area. For example, there was girl in my neighbourhood, who studied IT here and then moved to other country for work. She told me by working in a different culture had given her more exposure and confidence.
In conclusion, working in the same environment can be easy as we work in the same culture. However, working in an other country could be challenging and can increase confidence and competence.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You discuss both views and state a clear preference for freedom to work abroad, supported by relevant examples: the civil engineer may understand local building needs, while your neighbour gained exposure and confidence overseas. However, the arguments are not fully developed. The case for requiring professionals to serve where they trained is mainly about familiarity and convenience; it does not consider why a country might expect this in return for funding their education or addressing staff shortages. Your own position is clear, but the conclusion mostly repeats the contrast rather than explaining why freedom should outweigh the benefits of local service. Develop these points with fuller reasoning and a more decisive final justification. The response contains 10 words copied from the task prompt, which are excluded from the reported count.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. The contrastive opening of the second body paragraph (“However”) helps signal the shift in argument, and examples are placed alongside the relevant points. Some connections are less clear or mechanical, though. For instance, “They knows their knowledge and competence level” does not clearly identify who “they” refers to, and repeated links such as “They are also” and “They know” make the first body paragraph feel list-like. The conclusion also repeats earlier ideas without drawing them together into a clear final rationale. Use more precise referencing and show how each supporting detail develops the paragraph’s main claim.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the topic and include some relevant terms, such as “working environment,” “competence,” “exposure,” and “culture.” There are also attempts at more specific language in the example about building materials. However, several choices are imprecise or unnatural, including “They knows their knowledge,” “mindsets of people,” and “any hurdle and difficulty.” Repetition of “environment,” “work,” and “confidence” also limits flexibility. These choices do not prevent the reader from understanding the main ideas, but they make some sentences less natural and precise. Build a wider set of accurate collocations for professional migration and public services, and check whether each phrase expresses the intended meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex forms, including conditional phrasing (“If we work in a country…”) and a relative clause in the example about the engineer. Meaning is generally understandable, but some errors occur in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction. Examples include “should be require” instead of a correct passive form, “They knows,” and “If we work … can be beneficial,” which lacks a clear subject in the main clause. The sentence beginning “By working in a different country…” also needs a clearer grammatical connection to its subject. Improve control of these patterns, and proofread punctuation and spacing, as in “However, working.” More consistently accurate complex sentences would make your reasoning easier to follow.
