Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
You have successfully identified the main trends and provided a clear overview of the data. You covered all four sectors and made relevant comparisons, such as noting the similar end-point for Retail and Healthcare. However, the report could be improved by being more precise with the data points. For instance, stating 'Manufacturing stood at 15 millions' is slightly inaccurate as the graph shows 15 million jobs, and 'it was decreased' is grammatically awkward. To reach a higher band, ensure that your descriptions of trends are more precise and that you avoid minor inaccuracies when reporting specific figures from the graph.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized into four paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the information easily. You use some cohesive devices like 'Meanwhile', 'Furthermore', and 'Overall' to link your ideas. However, the transition between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing could be more sophisticated. For example, 'Agriculture had almost similar data' is a bit vague. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that your sentences flow more naturally into one another would strengthen the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the main points of the graph, using terms like 'dramatic increase', 'stable', and 'marginally'. However, there are some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'it showed a slightly fell' (should be 'a slight fall') and 'continuesly' (spelling error). Additionally, some phrasing is repetitive. To improve, try to use a wider range of synonyms for 'increase' and 'decrease' and pay closer attention to word forms to ensure your writing sounds more professional and precise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this task. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader, such as 'number of jobs in four different field' (should be 'fields'), 'it was decreased' (passive voice error), and 'it had escalate' (should be 'it had escalated'). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they indicate a need for more careful proofreading, particularly regarding verb tenses and subject-verb agreement.
