LOOKING AT THE LINE CHART IN DEEPLY, MANUFACTURING START WITH 15 MILLION JOBS IN 1960. FOLLOWED BY HIT A PEAK WITH 20 MILLION OPPURTUNITIES IN 1980. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers all four sectors and provides a clear overview of the trends. You successfully identified the main features, such as the growth in healthcare and the decline in agriculture. However, there are some inaccuracies in the data reporting. For example, you state that retail and healthcare 'remained the most jobs' and 'were at same position of 15 million', which does not accurately reflect the visual data provided in the graph. To improve, ensure that your specific data points (years and figures) are precisely aligned with the graph to avoid misrepresenting the information.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs. You use some cohesive devices like 'furthermore', 'conversely', and 'consequently' to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally disrupted by mechanical phrasing and some awkward transitions. For instance, the phrase 'Looking at the line chart in deeply' is non-standard. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words more naturally and ensure that the progression of ideas between sentences is smoother and less repetitive.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'fluctuation', 'significant growth', and 'dramatic plunge'. However, there are several spelling errors (e.g., 'DIFFERENR', 'OPPURTUNITIES', 'GRADUALL') and some word choice issues, such as 'remained the most jobs' instead of 'had the most jobs'. While your vocabulary is sufficient to convey the main points, the frequency of spelling and collocation errors limits your score. Focusing on proofreading for common spelling mistakes and learning standard collocations for describing trends will help improve your lexical range and accuracy.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt to use complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'Manufacturing begins with enormous occupations' (subject-verb agreement/tense inconsistency), 'Agriculture was saw on same position' (incorrect passive voice construction), and 'both of them wre at same position'. These errors are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader, though they do not fully impede communication. To improve, work on consistent verb tense usage—especially when describing historical data—and ensure correct article usage (e.g., 'the retail sector').
