Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the task achievement score. Furthermore, the content is incomplete; you only describe the manufacturing sector and briefly mention the retail sector, failing to report on the agriculture and healthcare sectors as required by the prompt. The overview is present but lacks sufficient detail to cover the main features of the graph. To improve, you must ensure all data categories are addressed and provide a more comprehensive summary of trends across the entire 60-year period.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear structure. While there is an attempt at an introduction and an overview, the body paragraphs are underdeveloped and the response ends abruptly. Cohesive devices are used in a very mechanical and limited way (e.g., 'Another one is'). The lack of paragraphing and the incomplete nature of the analysis make the progression of ideas difficult to follow. To improve, ensure each sector is discussed in a logical order and use a wider range of linking words to connect your sentences and ideas more fluidly.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive. You rely on simple phrasing such as 'showed decline' and 'reached at its lowest'. There are also issues with word choice and spelling, such as 'ilustrates' (illustrates), 'recored' (recorded), and '15 millions' (15 million). The range of vocabulary is insufficient to demonstrate the flexibility required for higher bands. You should focus on using more precise terminology for describing trends, such as 'fluctuated', 'plummeted', or 'remained stable', and ensure you use accurate numerical expressions.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with articles ('the manufacturing', 'the Healthcare'), verb tenses ('had been recored'), and preposition usage ('at its peak point at about'). The sentence structures are relatively simple, and the errors occasionally make the meaning slightly unclear. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles. Additionally, try to incorporate more complex sentence structures, such as using subordinating conjunctions to combine related ideas, while ensuring your punctuation is accurate.
