Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to accurately report the data presented in the graph. There are significant factual errors, such as claiming the data is about 'England' rather than the US, and misinterpreting the trends (e.g., stating healthcare is decreasing when the graph likely shows a different trend). The overview is missing, and the description of the data is confused and lacks a clear summary of the main features or comparisons. The response does not adequately address the requirements of the task as it misrepresents the provided information.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The response lacks logical organization and progression. It is written as a single, disjointed paragraph. There is a lack of cohesive devices to link ideas, and the referencing is often unclear or confusing. The flow of information is erratic, making it difficult for the reader to follow the intended comparison of the four sectors. Paragraphing is absent, which is a requirement for a well-structured report.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary is very limited and repetitive. The student uses basic terms like 'top rated', 'facilities', and 'seats' in ways that are not appropriate for an academic report. There is a lack of precision in describing trends, such as 'many up and downs' or 'many years same'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to convey the information accurately or professionally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'they both are increase'), incorrect preposition usage, and awkward sentence structures. The control of basic grammar is weak, and there is no evidence of complex sentence structures. Punctuation is also inconsistent, which further detracts from the clarity of the writing.
