Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to summarize the information in the line graph, but it contains significant inaccuracies regarding the data. For example, the student claims that 'all the four sectors starts from 0' and that the 'healthcare sector has the lowest growth' and 'shows no growth,' which misrepresents the visual data provided. Additionally, key economic sectors and timelines are confused or described vaguely, such as mentioning 'In 200' instead of 2000, and making sweeping statements that do not accurately reflect trends. While an overview is attempted, the lack of accurate data reporting and misunderstanding of the visual information place this response at Band 4.5, rounded to 5.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, attempting an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the logical progression is frequently disrupted by unclear referencing and disjointed sentences. Expressions like 'The sector who got highest rank starts declining in the next years' and abrupt shifts between time periods (e.g., jumping from 1980 to 2000 and then back without clear narrative flow) make the overall arrangement difficult to follow. Cohesive devices are either missing or used inaccurately, such as repetitive transitions and faulty referencing ('all the three sector have excillent growth'). Paragraphing is present, but internal cohesion is weak, leading to a Band 5.0 score.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The lexical range is limited and repetitive. The student frequently reuses basic vocabulary such as 'sector,' 'growth,' and 'increase' ('Retail sector achievd some increasment... Retail sector got some increase'). There are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including 'achievd,' 'increasment,' 'excillent,' and 'incerease.' Less common vocabulary is attempted without success or accurate collocation (e.g., 'Healthcare sector have bad effect on society'). These lexical shortcomings cause occasional difficulty for the reader, fitting the Band 5.0 descriptors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control over grammar is weak. There are frequent errors in verb tense, subject-verb agreement, and articles (e.g., 'all the four sectors starts from 0,' 'Manufacturing sector has highest growth,' 'all the three sector have'). Punctuation and phrasing are also problematic, as seen in awkward constructions like 'The sector who got highest rank starts declining.' These frequent errors occasionally impede communication and restrict the overall grammatical score to a Band 5.0.
