The graph below gives information about the number of jobs in four sectors of the economy in the US between 1960 and 2020.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

The line graph reveal the statiscics of jobs in different sectors of the economy in the US from 1960 to 2020.

Overall, there are four types of sectors including Manufacturing, retail, agriculture and healthcare. Fluctuation can be seen clearly. Initial year, the field which contain the highest numbers of jobs was manufacturing on the other the hand lower ratio of jobs in healthcare that was only 2.5.

In 1960 that result clearly seen that, manufacturing shows the highest number for two decades it slightly went up. Nevertheless, it started showing minimally change in decreasing line till 2020.

On the other side, retail showed the total opposite point by slowly increased from 6 million to 16 million. Agriculture plays the same role as retail by climbing up from 1960s to 2020.

one of the sectors gave totally different readings in jobs was Healthcare which gives the reducing results instead of growning ratio. The percentage decrease from its intial value to half.
