Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response covers the main trends of the four sectors, noting that Healthcare and Retail increased while Manufacturing and Agriculture declined. However, the text falls short of the minimum 150-word requirement, totaling only 120 words. While an overview is attempted at the beginning, some comparisons are confusing or mechanically expressed, such as claiming the Retail sector was 'more widely than healthcare', which limits the full development of the task. Data points are generally cited, but the overall presentation remains somewhat limited and under-developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has some basic organization with separate paragraphs for different sectors and an opening overview. However, there is no clear overall progression, and the transitions feel disjointed. Cohesive devices are minimal or inaccurate, such as using 'Whereas' at the start of sentences without proper clauses, or awkward phrasing like 'Its figure show increased'. Paragraphing is attempted, but the grouping of ideas lacks smooth logical flow and fails to guide the reader effectively through the data.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and repetitive, with noticeable lexical errors. Words and phrases such as 'most widely enhanced' and 'More widely than healthcare' are used incorrectly in terms of collocation and word choice. There are also errors in word forms, such as 'fell feom' (from) and 'figure show increased' instead of 'figures showed an increase'. These inaccuracies restrict the range of vocabulary, although communication of the main trends is still just about maintained.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The grammatical range is quite limited, relying mostly on simple or faulty complex structures. There are frequent errors in verb forms, articles, and plurals, such as 'number of job' instead of 'jobs', 'Healthcare sector' missing an article, and 'from 2 millions' instead of 'million'. Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also problematic, with lower-case letters starting sentences like 'overall ,' and 'the number of jobs'. These persistent errors can cause some difficulty and hesitation for the reader.
