Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response attempts to describe the main features of the graph, but it only partially addresses the task. While it identifies some general trends, such as the upward trajectory of healthcare and the overall fluctuations in manufacturing, the selection of data is incomplete and contains inaccuracies. For instance, the text claims that retail surpasses healthcare and manufacturing in the year 2020, which is factually incorrect according to the visual data since retail and healthcare both reach 16 million jobs. Furthermore, the description of manufacturing is confused, stating both that it 'was increased till the 1980' and that it was 'decrasing after some fluctuations'. The overview provided in the second paragraph is underdeveloped and lacks clarity regarding the overall progression of the four sectors.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response shows some organization with basic paragraphing, but there is no clear overall progression of ideas. Although some cohesive devices are attempted, such as 'Overall', 'In the year 1960', and 'On the other hand', their usage is sometimes mechanical or inaccurate, as seen in the confusing transitions between time periods. Referencing is also problematic, with pronouns and time markers like 'till the end of the year 2020' creating ambiguity. The logical flow is hindered by abrupt shifts between different sectors and years, making it difficult for the reader to follow the intended comparisons smoothly.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The lexical resource is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, with noticeable errors in word choice and spelling that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. Examples of lexical inaccuracies include 'job factories' instead of sectors, 'varitey' instead of variety, 'decrasing' and 'discreased' instead of decreasing and decreased, 'manifacturing' and 'manufaturingin' instead of manufacturing, and 'surpases' instead of surpasses. Attempts to use less common vocabulary are undermined by these persistent spelling and word-formation errors, which restrict the precision of the descriptions.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response demonstrates a very limited range of grammatical structures. While there are a few simple sentences, attempts at complex sentence forms are frequently faulty. There are numerous errors in verb tenses, subject-verb agreement, and prepositions within grammatical patterns. Examples include 'The manufacturing was notably decrasing', 'manifacturing was increased till the 1980, afterwards it slightly discreased overall the year', 'healthcare sector was followed the upward trend', and 'retail company started to grow from the beginning and after 2020 it surpases'. These frequent grammatical errors cause noticeable difficulty for the reader and impede clear communication throughout the text.
